That's how I had found so many of the ones that I read just by looking at ones that were not popular and got hooked on them lol. And you are right no one talked about 7deadly sins or Fairy Tail....interesting. Because they were both decent chapters to say the least.

Yeah, I do the same! Sometimes I give something a chance and then find a new story to read. It's pretty great. Sometimes you find some real good ones.

And maybe people are just busy right now?

Yeah it is early in the work day so folks more than likely are pretty busy.

Eh, I'd like to promote discussion here, but at the end of the day, this is a manga sub-forum on a gaming forum. I imagine a lot of people have other outlets to discuss manga, or just don't care enough to discuss things here in general. I enjoy seeing more talk in this thread, but that's the way I see it anyway.

In general, I've only been giving updates on manga I read weekly, since talking points with those will still be fresh. A lot of my weekly/monthly manga I'll catch up on in periodic spurts, like I did with Blue Exorcist a few weeks back, and will probably do with Magi and Attack on Titan soon.

That being said, I read both Fairy Tail and Seven Deadly Sins on time this week, but just didn't have anything to add about either. Both are entertaining, but don't really provide huge discussion points. I've kind of been getting annoyed with both, but still enjoy them enough to keep up.

I gotta say, even though I'd be disappointed if Ichigo x Orihime turns out to be a pairing, I'd be pissed as heck if Renji x Rukia is one too. Look at all this true love

Eh, I've seen way worse. At least Renji gave more to win back her favor than a "yeah sorry."

Not that I care about the pairing at all....just wouldn't be bothered if it happened either. Renji's redeemed himself several times over at this point, and his relationship with Rukia seems to be back to normal, from what we can tell.

+ Tic Neesan.  I don't even ...

(edited for the sensitive)

New Boy Skirt. My trap senses are tingling, I think she is a he too. A potential trap harem? Totlly not jealous...(kicks rock). Really funny chapter.

I suppose I'll give a few updates right meow.

I finally got caught up on Boku no Hero Academia. Funny, since I was rallying everyone to read it, and it seems like everyone finished it before me. Gonna post a few key thoughts from catching up.

  • I like that, even though the manga follows some standard western hero tropes, it still touches on more serious issues. The introduction of Stain and the villains sympathetic to him did a great job blurring the line between justice and chaos.
  • Mount Lady is best girl (lady?). Even if I'm biased (blonde + giant? purrrr), her actions in the Rescue arc proved that she's not as selfish as her initial appearance made her seem.
  • The Bakugou Rescue arc was absolutely insane. The last time a manga arc hooked me this much was the Whitebeard War in One Piece. The constant tension, having no idea what was going to happen next, and characters fighting so desperately to gain even a little bit of ground, the chaotic atmosphere just hooked me. The final panel of All Might's victory pose had me tearing up. Even though All for One was beaten, it definitely wasn't a victory for the heroes.
  • The implications behind Deku, Kirishima, and Todoroki's decision in the Rescue arc wasn't just swept away, and I really liked that. Not only because it forced them to consider how to resolve the situation without violence, but because of the reactions of everyone else involved. Tsuyu's recent reaction in particular was very well done I thought.
  • I mentioned it somewhere else, but Deku's mom has to be one of my favorite manga moms. She looks unimpressive, but she's so strong emotionally, and has so much love for her son, even going so far as to stand off with All Might to keep Deku safe.
  • No idea if this will be a problem yet, but I'm worried about Ochako turning into pairing fodder. She's an awesome girl, but the last few fights she got have felt the need to remind us of her feelings for Deku. As a shipper, I don't mind, but I hope their relationship is one that blossoms naturally, and that she's able to be an awesome character in her own right.

I saw spoilers are out for tomorrow's manga. Nisekoi spoilers made me smile. Not just because of the kiss and marriage promise, but also because Marika x Y-san appears to be canon.

Didn't read Bleach spoilers...but it sounds like we have two more chapters instead of one? I suppose that's a good thing...give us more closure than 15 pages.

Awesome that you caught up on on My Hero Academia and yeah i am worried that Urakara will be like Hinata or Sakura whose solo purpose is for pairings i really hoping she ends up getting some really awesome fights and great character development that isn't just being Deku's love interest though i would like if end up becoming a couple before the series is over since that is basically non existent in Shounen action series.

Also here's a really cool fan theory that makes so much sense.

and we will get 1 more Bleach chapter after 685 but we won't be able to read the ending for another 2 weeks due to Jump going on break cause of a Japanese holiday next week.

So, I wasn't planning on talking about this manga, because it is mostly juvenile humor (if you can even call it that) but sometimes it just has some really funny moments, notably the most recent chapter. So, here's a manga called Dansan Joshi, where it mostly follows a cast of guys and girls talking about weird and stupid things. Here's a few moments...

And...

So yeah, I thought these moments were funny...

I was thinking about Naruto when I posted that...haha. I was hopeful for Sakura's character a long time ago, but seeing her relegated to pairing fodder just made me mad. At least with Ochako, her initial motives are less flippant, and she does have fantastic moments, so I'm more hopeful this time around. I'm crazy about my ships, but I also like characters to have motivation outside of being a love interest. Ochako's fight with Bakugou was fantastic I thought, and I like her character motivations a lot. I'm curious how Stain and his disciples will react to her motives for becoming a hero, since they're both selfish and selfless at the same time. Or if that will ever be touched on.

That being said, I'm definitely rooting for Deku/Ochako as a pairing. I also like Todoroki/Momo...and possibly Kamui/Mount Lady. Not sure about the last one yet.

Also, gonna mention another manga I picked up today just because how dang adorable it is. Basically it's a a boy and girl who are next door neighbors, childhood friends, and the girl likes the boy, but tried to pretend she is not... and fails horribly at hiding it. Heck, she doesn't even hide it anymore.
