Awesome! Let me know what you think of it later!

Well I have read it all so far. I am liking it.  The interacton of the skills is fairly clever.

Sweet! Glad to hear you like it. I dunno why, but reading about Yun crafting items, shopping, and doing other MMO things seems really enjoyable. I really like Magi as well. She's a cool character and has a sweet design as well. I love when she gets some panel time x D

I dropped Seven Deadly Sins entirely because of Meliodas.  I just got tired of hearing about how incredible he was.

Yeah..can't blame you at all for that. I started to get tired of it when the Dragonball stuff started. Not sure why the author thought it was a good idea to add power levels into story. I'd much rather characters be built up through their actions, similar to One Piece, rather than some stupid number.

Good thing power levels stopped being relevant in Dragonball in basically one arc.

Anybody hear read some of Junji Ito's work? Started Uzumaki and it's...pretty weird. It's got my attention at the very least. Art is really realistic and creepy, I don't know where the story is going with this at all though. Here's a taste of it, wouldn't recommend it to the faint of heart.

Whoops, forgot to comment on this. I love Uzumaki, it's one of my favorite manga, and is def one I will bring up during October, when I will be doing a whole lot of Horror manga recommending! Looking forward to that time xD

I can never look at snails the same way again because of this manga... xD

Aaaaanyways, recommended post has been updated with a few more recs.

Also, updated the poll with something new, focusing on current popular manga. Do you follow any of these on the list? If so, which one is your fav?

Also, I thought it'd be nice to talk about the 1st manga we ever read/bought. Do you remember what manga it was? And do you still like it, or don't (What was I thinking picking this up...? )

You can feel free to share, if.... you want.

I read a lot of popular shounen stuff. Of that list, I've read or are reading everything except for History's Strongest Disciple. I did end up dropping Naruto though...about 100 chapters before the end, but I don't feel like ranting about that. Favorites on that list are probably One Piece and Fairy Tail.

First manga I read...hard to say. I read the American version of Shounen Jump when I was kid, because I saw a copy with a Dragonball Z picture on the cover. First manga I followed closely though was probably Naruto...back when I was into it. I was a big anime-only proponent for a long time, and pretty much refused to read manga for whatever reason. Can't even remember my thought process now...it was probably some dumb excuse.

Naruto and HSDK are mangas of the past already, though XP (both completed), and is HSDK popular :o?

To answer it, One Piece is my favorite, all time favorite overall just as well.

The first manga I read, to completition, was Konjiki no Gash Bell!! (Zatch Bell!), which is pretty good actually, even as the anime counterpart can be childish and annoying lots of times, was reading it like mad that I got into reading mangas (after that I was always going for new mangas to read) and as I couldn't wait for new chapters to be translated to portuguese because there was just no real compromisse on the team doing it at the time, it just would come when they felt like it, usually a lot all together, that I got into reading in english (best decision ever, got my english to get WAY better, went from almost being able to understand a chapter in half a hour to reading it almost naturally and could now read way more stuff because it's a way broader language), and yes I still like it, I actually went over it again this year, but the first manga I got to read was Naruto, one time a friend took one to school and I went crazy over it (so different from comics, all black and white, you had to read from right to left and start reading by the other side you do with books), then started reading online just as well (in portuguese at the time).

Man, Zatch Bell is very nostalgic for me. I didn't read the manga, but I watched the anime on TV. One TV channel had it, and I watched it. It was really enjoyable, haha. I thought Zatch's design was weird and kinda lame, but he grew on me. The battles were pretty cool as well. I don't remember a lot of it, nor did I finish it, but I remember it being one of those weird shows I enjoyed watching as a kid.

I guess I should answer my own Q huh, haha xD

Surprisingly, I haven't really followed any of these. Actually, I was against Naruto and Bleach. For some reason, Naruto realy irritated me as a character, like his cat face, that bright orange suit, and that voice of his. I didn't like Sasuke at all either. I refused to watch or read it. I did like Gaara though. He looked cool.

I also watched some of the Bleach anime, but after I found out who the villain was, and what he did, I quit the series there. I felt it was going down a terrible route Inu Yasha went, so I didn't want to go down that road again.

The others I have heard of, like Shingeki and One Punch Man (I used to hear of that manga before it really took off in popularity) but didn't get into them. I did give One Piece a try, since everyone in Japan practically loved it, and... yeah, it's good. I can see why people love this manga. It's very funny, silly, and just a joy to read. It's very fun and light hearted, with great characters both personality and design. I found myself chuckling alot when reading it. I dropped it after burning out from reading too much, but I really enjoyed it. I really want to get back to it some time.

Also, 1st manga I read may have been Ranma, but I'm not sure whether I read it or just heard about it. The 1st manga I definitely remember buying and reading, as well as getting into manga, was Rurouni Kenshin. It was one of the anime I saw as a kid and really loved the character, as well as the show. I also really liked the look of feudal Japan, their kimonos and the samurai. So when I saw there was a manga, I bought the 1st 2 books and fell in love with it. I bought the newest book every month, consumed it quickly, and then had to wait another painful month for the next. It was also the 1st one I completed and is just my favorite manga!

Yeah, so those are my stories, and I'm sticking to them!

Well, there's a new Nisekoi and I've been missing some of the chapters, so I guess I'll just say my overall thoughts on it up until now:

It looks to me it's going into the route in the one-shot, which I would find rather disappointing, not only because it would be a predictable and boring ending, but I feel like it doesn't work here. In the oneshot, it focused on Raku and Chitoge, and there were clues leading up to it, but in the manga, I feel like it doesn't work, and everything that's built up to this moment I feel doesn't work. I don't feel like it smoothly leads into the final final. It feels more like it's being forced to follow it, because that's how it went in the one shot. After all that I read, I don't feel Raku would naturally pick Chitoge and I don't feel things lead into that. Having read from the beginning, I felt the series expanded upon this idea and things would end differently, or acted in a way where it could do anywhere, but with how things are going and what things are leading up to, if it ends like in the one shot, I'm gonna be rather disappointed.

But who knows! Maybe things will end differently, even if slightly.

I made a post about in the Anime thread, because it's getting an anime film version, but has anyone read A Silent Voice? One of the most moving manga I've ever come across.

I haven't read it, but it colored me very interested! I went ahead and read some of it, and I am addicted. It is pretty deep and serious, but really excellent, both art wise and story wise. The art is just very excellently done and the writing is great! I became addicted right away and put me through a roller coaster of feelings. I am determined now to see how the story plays out, and I am very intrigued by the main characters as well. Very great manga so far. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who just wants a great read.
