Also, there were new chapters from Aharen-san, which I'll go ahead and post a highlight from the latest chapters.

One thing that just gets me with Aharen is her expression. She always has that mellow expression, which just makes some scenarios just look really funny xD Ah heck, they're probably all funny xD

I've started reading a manga titled GIGANT.  it's by the author of Gantz.

Warning:  This manga has nudity and sexual situations for reasons that will become obvious in the summary.

The story so far is told from the perspective of two people.  The first is an awkward, "AV Club" type high school boy who dreams of becoming a movie director.  At the start, he is attempting to put together an indie film of some kind.  He also has a rather deep crush on a struggling young Adult Video actress who goes by the name "Papiko"--who, it turns out, lives in the same town.

Things happen, they meet by chance, and become text friends.

Papiko, for her part, has kind of a rough life.  She lives in a tiny apartment with a violent and unstable boyfriend who sponges off her in order to play pachinko all day.  Her family is ashamed of her but they also sponge off her, as she pays their bills.

Sounds kind of predictable, doesn't it?  Heh.

Papiko, while walking home, comes across the local crazy homeless guy injured on the roadside.  When she tries to call and ambulance, he presses something that looks like a stopwatch against her, which fuses to her arm.  Then he kind of dies or something, maybe, though I'm not sure.

Anyway, Papiko discovers that she now has the power to grow into a giant.  Things get weird from there.  Besides a giant porn-star, there also seems to be time travel and a website that allows stupid things to become reality based on internet voting (NOT a good idea).

It's ... interesting.  There are things that don't impress me, like the high school kid being so awkward and showing very little personality so far, but I like Papiko and way things took a sharp turn into crazy-land has intrigued me.

Normally I'm not really crazy sex and nudity, but since the author of Gantz is behind this, I feel I at least need to give it a look. I read bits of the manga and watched the anime, which I really enjoyed despite the adult parts. The story does sound interesting as well.

Also, didn't expect this, but Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume o Minai is getting an anime adaptation. Wasn't really expecting that, but I'm kind of curious to check it out once it airs later in the year.

Well, recently I stopped by a Barnes and Nobles with some friends and I was pleasantly surprised to see the new selections in the manga section. Quite a number of manga I've read from here and/or ones I didn't expect to see: ones such as Wotakoi, New Game! and Made in Abyss, which I picked up all 3. Really glad to see these make it over to the west, as now I can finally own these on a shelf. I'm really hoping some of my other favorite manga can make it over some time in the future.

Also, I finally read and caught up with Isekai Nonbiri Nouka, which I've fond to be just  a fun, relaxing and silly read. I feel I basically read Minecraft if it was a manga, which I found to be fun since I like those style of games, haha. The cast of characters that come around to live with the MC are quite fun and interesting as well. I didn't I'd become so attached to a group of dogs and a spider before xD Also, it's cool to see how he slowly develops his new home into what is looking to be a small village... with the strangest neighbors around.

This is the weirdest thing I've ever read.  I'm pretty certain the writer is making it up page by page.

Yeah, the characters than end up living with him seem pretty random. Dogs with horns, a giant deadly spider, a vampire, an angel, etc. I remember making a joke about a dragon coming to live with him, and low and behold, a dragon shows up. He doesn't end up living there, but it was funny how my joke almost came to be.

That's part of the charm, at least for me. It's so absurd in a way that can only be told well in this type of story. And it's just so chill to read
