So, I finished reading Death Note. Overall I enjoyed it, but the first 58 chapters or so were definitely better than the ones that proceeded them. Now, I'm not sure what to read next, I guess I'm reading Ibitsu right now as that's what Cloud recommended to me

Ichikawa is my favorite.

Yeah, I think they're becoming my favorite couple in this manga. I actually prefer seeing more interactions with them, rather than the main one. It's funny and cute to see the cool Ichikawa get flustered, while the serious guy just be silly with a straight face. Although I'm sure it's gonna happen, I do hope they officially become a couple xD Kusumi's dad is pretty funny as well.

While I enjoyed the manga overall, I definitely feel the 1st half was the stronger part of the story.

I first watched the first season of "New Game!!!".
I enjoyed it quite a bit so I went ahead and read the manga.

Watching the second season they got to my favorite part with the plushies etc. As I watched the next ones I realized - I don't recall any of this happening.

I went to my manga list to see if i just don't remember it

What happened is apparently the last page I saw as that of volume 3. Then skipped to vlume 5 which was the prequel. So what I'm seeing now in the anime is Volume 4 that wasn't added until june of this year.

Oh, I'm watching New Game as well, and am almost caught up with it! I think they did skip some parts of the manga, or are kinda jumping around the story. It looks like the anime is gonna move ahead of the current available chapters in English, which is nice. They just introduced new characters, who look like they'll be in the 2nd season too, so it'll be nice to learn more about them. I wonder if they'll cover Aoba's high school days as well..

You want something more messed up..? That's one of the strongest things I have... If you want some more strong stuff, maybe Hyouryuu Kyoushitsu (Drifting Classroom) may be up to that? That one really tests the limits of elementary kids, which is just... brutal. And, there are some pretty messed up stuff in that too.

Maybe you'll like Gigi Goegoe (Tales of the Unusual), which is a collection of short, but crazy/interesting stories. Most of them are pretty scary/messed up as well, haha.

I'll check those out!! But right now I'm reading Higanjima, not sure if you've ever heard of it before. It starts out pretty interesting There is talk of vampires, one guy gets infected so his head gets smashed in, and now there's a naked girl masturbating and making someone watch her come (I think they're supposed to be hallucination?) I wonder what's next!

Oh, no. I haven't heard of that one. That one's new to me... o_o

Well, I have to say, they certainly packed the action at the beginning!! I've been reading more now, and it's mainly been exposition now. I think you may enjoy it, but I'm not exactly sure when things start to pick up again.

I've been reading a manga titled Isekai Tensei Soudouki.  I'm not going to recommend it or anything but I do find it interesting.  The art isn't great by any means, the pace is uneven, and it has a measure of immaturity (though some people *cough* like that) with regards to the action and comedy bits.

The premise, though, is pretty good.  A boy is born into a fantasy type world.  His father is a noble and his mother is one of the most infamous mercenaries around.  However, for some reason, he has two other personalities living inside him--a highly regarded samurai and businessman from feudal Japan and a otaku-ish high schooler from modern Japan.  With their knowledge and skill, plus the hellish training of his mother, he kind of takes the kingdom by storm.

There is magic-type fighting but there is also a lot of economic and political dealings.  For instance, he uses his otherworldly information sources to introduce a new way of producing sugar.  There is comedy and harem stuff going on.  It's very ambitious even if it can't always pull it off.

I love the Misuzu / Carol dynamic.  They are so completely different and yet so much alike.  They both hide their feelings, though one does it by being dark and cold, while the other does it by being bright and cheeful.  They both scheme and manipulate people.  They're both good people inside who are actually kind of insecure.  They're also both drawn to Tomo, who is open and honest.

I can't help but wonder if the author planned that out.

Their dynamic when interacting is one of the best parts of the comic. I think Carol is legitamitely happy quite often, especially now that she has Tomo as a true friend. Misuzu, I think, still feels very much alone despite Tomo's bond with her.

Has anyone here read Assassination Classroom? It sounds weird and interesting, and has popped up on my recommendations list on Amazon after buying my next volumes of Tokyo Ghoul.

I only read a bit of the manga, but I watched all of the anime. It was my Anime of the Year last year, so I can definitely say I enjoyed it.

It's...a bit different. It feels more like a gag comedy initially, with the gag being the students trying to kill their teacher in different ways, failing, finding a new weakness of his in the process, and trying again. The story picks up in the second half with the principal getting more focus, and Koro-sensei's backstory and the explanation behind all the events being revealed. While season 1 was good...season 2 was where I was absolutely hooked. Not that I know how well that was translated from manga.

I'll say though, I wouldn't recommend reading like this your typical battle manga. The few fights in the series really weren't that interesting, and most of the cast, save for a few of the main students, really aren't that well developed. It's really Koro-sensei's story, so your enjoyment of the series will live or die based on what you think of him. I personally thought his character was really handled, and was honestly surprised at certain parts of his backstory. The writer really didn't pull any punches with him.

Overall, I'd recommend it, though I'd also recommend going into it with an open mind, and not comparing it to other manga/anime you've seen.
