So I started reading Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha Innocent, a spin off of Nanoha and holy crap, why didn't I checked it out sooner, is so gay.

So is basically a chill version of Nanoha you have most of the characters from the original series just without being tragic and even more gay that they already were, I even add Precia x Lindy in my head canon as another great ship in Nanoha. And of course, Nanofate is as adorable as ever, Arisa going full doujin personality on those 2 is amazing as well.

SO GAY

Where is my anime adaptation?

I'm reading something titled Sen to Man.  It's just a simple manga about a single father and his daughter.  He always seems to say the wrong thing and she gets annoyed and grumpy with him easily.  Kind of like real life.  Some of the focus seems to be the struggle to deal with the issues a mother would normally handle.

She's kind of a pillbug but I like that she isn't perfect.

I just read the first couple chapters of Black Clover.  It was about as JUMP as JUMP can get.  I kept thinking "Naruto with magic".

Dark-haired kid is a smart and serious magic genius, fair-haired kid is a "never give up!!" goof-ball that everyone thinks is a loser because he can't use magic.  Of course, this being manga, the goof-ball having a mysterious power that doesn't come out until he gets beaten down is no surprise.

It can be kind of funny, though.  Has a bit of Fairy Tail, too, with the other powerful characters that I'm sure the hero will surpass one by one.

On Chapter 14 of Black Clover.

It's starting to really remind me of Seven Deadly Sins.  First the art, which looks a LOT like SDS at times, especially the females.  More than that, though, it's the different groups of Magic Knights, each with a unique Captain that sets the theme for that unit.

The hero, of course, is in the "loose cannon" group.

They even have their own version of Kana from Fairy Tail.

So far, like Fairy Tail and SDS, I'm finding the side characters to be the most interesting part.  The main character acts a lot like Natsu except he's not an ass who looks for fights.

Yeeeees~! I read this as well. It's a simple SoL manga, but it's very cute and funny. It reminds me a bit of Yotsuba, except the kid and parent are kinda jerks to each other. This manga hardly gets updated though ;_;

This one I see all the time at the place I read at, but I never picked it up. Not sure if I want to read it.

Sen to Man - Yeah, it's cute and surprisingly funny while still having serious moments.  I like her friend with the hair buns on the side.  A shame to hear that it doesn't update much.  I didn't check the dates on the first chapters.

Black Clover - I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't already a fan of the Jump formula.  You can almost feel the editors going, "he should talk about nakama here," and so forth.  I usually only read this kind of manga until it gets so bogged down in cliche that it stops being interesting.

That being said, it can be pretty funny at times and the main character is likable.  The main girl (I think) is interesting, too.  I just really wish he'd stop yelling, "I'M GOING TO BE THE SORCERY EMPEROR," because it really sounds .. uh, kind of similar to something else.

Finished a couple of (SoL/Romance) Manga's after going on a break for no specific reason

Love so Life - pretty nice read though it's pretty typical and predictable (6.5/10)

Hibi Chouchou - pretty generic as well, but I liked it for what it is :p (8/10)

I don't read a lot of regular shoujo.  While there are some fantastic gems out there, a good chunk of it is like regular shounen in that it is heavily cliched.  However, I just started Namaikizakari and it has an interesting beginning.

Yuki is a no-nonsense 2nd year girl who almost never smiles.  She is the oldest of six kids and always acts mature and responsible.  Despite that, she joins the basketball club as the manager because she has a crush on the 3rd year team captain and just wants to be around him, even though she has no plans to confess.  Enter 1st year Naruse, a handsome and talented member of the club with an irreverent and lackadaisical attitude.  From the moment they first meet, it seems like his hobby is to bug and annoy Yuki.

I've only on chapter 1 but I like it so far, especially Yuki.  She is so harsh and serious but also unexpectedly vulnerable because she pushes everything down inside herself.

Hibi Chouchou looks nice, I might give that a try.  Pretty art.

Through chapter 10, I've got to say that I really like this manga.  Yuki is just hilarious and different from most shoujo heroines.  It's nice when you try something totally at random and it works out.

Hiya manga friends...I'm back from hiatus, and finished catching up on things in here. Gonna help Pokoko and Cloud keep this thread alive with something I started recently.

A friend recommended I try The Promised Neverland (Yakusoku no Neverland). It's a recent-ish Jump manga, having replaced Bleach's old slot the week after Kubo's manga ended, so only 22 chapters deep so far. I don't like starting new manga until they seem somewhat well established...but I made an exception here.

Since it's in Jump, it must be about friendship and love and joy and beating your cool genius rival...like that manga that Poko's reading (and to be honest, I'd probably get into if I started). Well...not really, in this case. The basic premise is about a young girl living in an orphange with her foster brothers and sisters. They live a happy life with their orphanage "mother", waiting to be adopted by a family of their own. Seems nice at first...but not too far in, the plot takes a very...dark turn.

It's hard to tell what direction the story will go, but it's very unique, which I enjoy in this case. I honestly can't guess what'll happen next. Characters are fun, the plot is tense, and the art direction really really sets the mood. This is definitely something I plan to keep reading.

Past that, I'm still catching up on Tokyo Ghoul...still making myself read Fairy Tail and Seven Deadly Sins, and still loving One Piece, Shokugeki, and My Hero Academia. How's that for a summary.
