Wait, there's an anime on Again!? I had no idea. I'd totally watch that. Also, didn't the Again! manga end already?

No, she's doing an anime named Yuri!! on Ice.  Yes, Again!! ended years ago.  I'm saying that I'd like to see her do another manga series after she's done with Yuri!!

Ooh, I see. I take it Yuri is only an anime? I didn't know she switched from doing manga to anime. And yeah, I'd like to read another manga by this author too xD

Yeah, it's anime only.  She's listed as one of the creators, along with the person directing, and is doing the writing and storyboarding, from what I've read.  That would make her far too busy to work on manga, I'm sure.

It's pretty good, too.  It's kind of hinting at BL, I guess, but I don't really care as long as the writing and characters are solid.  Lots of pretty male characters.

Which is kind of a shame, actually, as I really like her female characters the most.  She is really good at writing female character who are unique and different from 90% of the cliched female characters in anime/manga.  Usami is especially awesome.

Well, with a name like Yuri!! I was thinking more with girls instead. xD

And yeah, the girls on the manga are pretty great, though I don't really like the cheerleader girl. She feels like a typical villain character, but that's just one character out of many great ones.

I've started yet another "reset" manga.  Japan seems to love this theme.  Saike Mata Shitemo.

I'm only on chapter 2.  The main character is a loner type who has no friends in his class.  He has no dreams or ambitions.  He does have a childhood friend in another class, though, who is the only person who really pays him any attention.  When tragedy strikes, however, he finds that the day has reset to the morning of the accident.

Unfortunately, he finds out that it is not easy to go against fate.

It's like Groundhog Day, except darker.

Well, I'm interested now. I'll give it a try.

Well, I'll go ahead and post something new I picked up as well: Daidai wa, Hantoumei ni Nidonesuru. It's a manga that takes place in a small town, but all sorts of bizzare things happen there. There are rumors that if your heart beats too much in your life, you just may explode, or aliens may be invading your town, disguised as... squids? It all happens in this town, to the point where it's just another normal day x )

Well, I started reading Saike Mata Shitemo, and it's been interesting. At 1st, it's starts off as a tragedy and the MC has the power to go back in time, and uses this to try to save his friend. It gets really sad from there, but then once it gets past that arc the manga becomes something I didn't expect, like a weird hero manga. I'm not really a fan of this shift in the manga, but it still remains to be interesting. Also, using his power really sucks x_x

Yeah, I guess I should have read more before I posted about it.

When I got to the change in tone, I really didn't like it.  After awhile, though, I found myself warming up to it.

It's like it jumped from the "reset" genre, to the "hero" genre, then to a kind of hybrid.  I like that he sucks at fighting but keeps fighting in his own way.  I mean, you have to admire the pain he's willing to go through.  I think I'd just give up and use my power to avoid bad stuff, as un-hero-ish as that sounds.  Well, that, and I certainly would NOT pass on using a weapon.

Also, wow, the manga you posted about was really, really good.  Dark as heck but really good.  I kept expecting everyone to die.  I kind of still do, actually.  I hope it continues to be translated, I enjoyed it a lot.  It's like Nichijou with blood.  I think the vengeful school-girl chapter was my favorite.

"Did you just shoot my mom?!" killed me.

Despite the change in the direction, I kept reading, and I actually came to like it as well. I found it to be really interesting, like having the quirkiness of abilities of One Punch Man and Boku no Hero, but still layered with a slice of tragedy. There are some really silly powers like the turning objects into styrafoam power and being able to make unbreakable tape, but they look dangerous when used. Also, it's always sad to think that in order to beat and solve situations, he has to drown and restart the day everytime and do all the tiresome things of the day or see people die over and over. One of them, he had to die 255 times or some high number to solve it, and that is just... very sad. : (

Glad you like the manga I posted too. xD I think it's a new manga that started getting posted recently and has been updated regularly, so hopefully it will continue. I've read previous works from this artist, which those were also very strange, so the stories in this one should continue to be just as bizzare as those, and that's what got me tuned in for this manga. I can't imagine what sort of crazy story will come up next. I also love how despite all the weird things that happen, it's mostly seen as another normal thing. I laughed at the part where the girl was able to buy a guy from a vending machine, with free bullets to boot as well xD

I've started reading an older manga named nacuN.  It ended in 2010 and it sounds like the translation releases are going to be sporatic but I found the first 12 chapters to be really interesting.

In the near future, an apparatus has been developed that can separate oxygen from water, thus allowing humans to dive for long periods.  At around the same time, a brilliant, Nobel Prize winning mathmatics professor suffers a horrible accident which crushes the left side of his head, completely destroying his ability to use language or communicate.  With his mathmatics career over, he turns to studying ocean life.

Eventually, he releases a "thesis", which seems to be nothing more than footage of dolphins.  It's received with confusion and scorn.  The academic world dismisses it immediately.  However, a college student, after watching it many times, believes he's found something, which he hopes will make him wealthy and powerful.  In order to understand, he decides to study dolphins, which brings him to a small, backward Japanese island.

The twelve chapters out now are mainly about him trying to fit in with the island folk, some of whom are not very friendly to outsiders.  An island girl that is outcast from the rest becomes a particular thorn in his side, as she spends much of her time swimming with the dolphins he is trying to study.  There also seems to be some shady activities going on with fishermen from a neighboring island and some mysterious foreigners with high-tech gear.

There is some nudity, though, oddly, only in the first chapter was it overt.

This is more of a story like you'd find in a novel than it is a typical manga, so it certainly won't be for everyone.
