Anyone read the Corpse Party manga? (Blood covered)
Worth reading even if you already played the game AND watched the OVA?

Heya, it's Cloudy here again, and I have another spooky manga to recommend for the month of horror! This time it's Ibitsu by Ryou Haruka, a manga about a boy who one night goes out to take out the trash, when he meets a creepy girl in a white dirty lolita dress hanging out there. She askes him if he has a little system, and the boy responds. It's after this encounter, the creepy girl then starts to follow him around and things turn for the worst...

Sooo, yeah... it's a rather short story, so if you wanna read something spooky, perhaps you may enjoy this. Plus the mini story is pretty great as well.

Oh, also I read all of Gyo, a manga that was recommended here as well, and I gotta say it's pretty good and unique. Making a story about weird creepy fish is quite interesting, and it becomes quite a grim story. It's a nice change that a guy is the lead character. Usually in Ito's works it's a lady lead.

Also, the side story with the people shaped holes was a great read as well. Very creepy.

Chose no on the latest poll. I typically don't do horror manga. Actually never done a horror manga.

I've also only really done two horror anime. Higurashi, and Umineko.

Would you like to try one? I've read different horror stories, so perhaps I can recommend something you may like.

Also, how were those 2 horror anime you watched? Where they scary or creepy?

I read a horror manga a few months ago that I really liked.  It was named "6000".  It reminds me of something I've seen before but I can't recall exactly what.  It's kind of a cross between Alien and The Shining.

There was a disaster at an undersea station that no one is willing to talk about.  Long afterwards, the corporation that owns it sends down a new crew to get things operational again.  That turns out to be a very bad idea.

Anyway, it seems it will be made into a movie in its own right.

All Nippon Entertainment Works and “Black Swan” producer Mike Medavoy are partnering to adapt the deep sea thriller “6000” as a feature film.

The English-language film will be based on Nokuto Koike’s Japanese horror Manga series “6000: Rokusen” from Gentosha Comics, which is partnering on the project.

Edward McGurn and Ben Anderson are producing along with Medavoy. Tara Billik is overseeing the project for ANEW.

The film is set 6,000 meters below the ocean’s surface at a research facility where a mysterious disaster killed the crew and shuttered the station. When a new team is sent down to get the operation running again three years later, tension builds as they struggle against the claustrophobic environment, their own deteriorating minds and danger lurking in the depths.

“We were immediately drawn to the tension of ‘6000,’ and are looking forward to bringing this psychological thriller to the international movie audience,” Medavoy said.

Medavoy’s credits include “The Thin Red Line,” “Zodiac,” “Shutter Island” and the upcoming Chilean mining drama “The 33,” to hit theaters on Nov. 13.  http://variety.com/2015/film/news/japanese-6000-movie-mike-medavoy-1201544980/

Not really. I like mystery ones, but I'm not into ghost, and blood, and body parts etc.

Infact I just remembered a third anime. After some googling I remembered the title - it is "another".

A new student movies in. He notices his entire class is ignoring one person. The premise is that there is an "extra student" in the class - a ghost. The ghost. Causes accidents, tragedies, and is killing off people. They found that if EVERYONE ignores one person and pretends they don't exist - then it is like there is no 'extra student' so no one dies.

No one tells the new student this.. so when he talks to the person everyone is ignoring - bad things happen.

As far as Higurashi and Umineko? Fairly good. Umineko didn't get a second season so you never got any answers. You had to go with the VN to finish it off.  Higurashi was quite confusing for me at the beginning though.

The first episode is normal. The second episode is a little creepy. The third episode is almost completely creepy. The fourth episode is off the wall entirely creepy WTF just happend there. I was actually wondering how there could even BE a fifth episode it was just so strange. The answer? The 5th episode went back to normal. It was like the first episode.

It was my first experience of "arcs" or ones that aren't connected. It was about 4 episodes the scaled like I said. Then ended. Eventually near the end you learned why there was so many "4 episode" arcs that seemed independent.

Those sound pretty good actually, especially another. That one's def got my attention. Sounds like a really interesting and spooky story.

From what I saw on googling it, I feel I've seen Umineko before. I think it was also a game? I'm not too sure. It does look familar.

I've also seen pictures of Higurashi, so I'm familiar with it. I think it has a lot of different spinoffs, but one character I remember is the girl in the white dress andthe machete. That's a character from the show, right..?

I wonder if Mirai Nikki counts as horror. Parts of it are really creepy sure, but that is more about one character than the story imo.

I think MAL categorizes it pretty well.. as a Mystery Triller, though there are some dark and creepy parts in it, for sure :p
