Seriusly guys. How many YEARS you need to understand how are the sales during the year?

PS4 is selling 25-30K recently... So? Look at last year. PS4 was selling >30K for all march, some times >45K. Then what's happen in April / May ?

PS4 dropped at 10-15K weekly sales... Like always.

Look at NPD sales as well, March and February 2015 have PS4 at almost 350K. Then look at April / May 2015, PS4 sold in the 150-175K territory, half of what sold in the stronger months of the year.


I mean, after year of sales, this should be obvius. If PS4 in February / March is selling 25-30K at week, you can be sure this year in April / May we will see again 10-15k.

In conclusion, there is nothing of "amazing" in the current PS4 basis. It's decent. It's also down compared to last year.
Wait 3/4 weeks, and we will see what is the real PS4 basis.

Congrats to The Division being the top seller this week. Great achievement for it and another PS4 game to get that #1 spot!

But why would you compare this year's March vs last year's as if they were equal? Last year was pretty incredible so sales were inflated. I think it's doing pretty amazing considering the weaker lineup this year. The point is the PS4 is doing better than the PS3 at the same point in time. I think that's the real test.

Not a bad week. Summon Night 6 barely did over 50k, so that isn't good. Decent showing of HW though.

Minecraft passes 700k physical next week.

Well 8 weeks until end of Feb 2016 had PS4 ahead of 9 weeks end of Feb 2015 by 7%, If it had its extra week it would be 17%.

The same thing for Wii U 8 weeks Feb 2016 had Wii U down yoy from -14% 9 weeks end Feb 2015, extra week would close gap slightly.

So the talks are about impressive growth for PS4 and thus it gains ground on Wii U faster especially when it had stock issues.

Also, I can't believe I didn't notice until now, but the 3DS passed the PSP in lifetime sales back in December. According to a poll in a thread I made when the 3DS passed the GBA, 7 out of 33 respondents correctly guessed December 2015. Now to see how long it takes the 3DS to pass the PS2 to become the new #3 best-selling system ever in Japan.

 

Oh wow! That's very impressive especially with the whole smartphone boom. 

 

And VGChartz has the PS2 around 23mil. Not that far away!!!! Insane numbers!
