Forums - Gaming Discussion - I Am Setsuna dev ditched Vita version in the US to focus on 'big screen' immersion (UPDATE - SE may reconsider if there is demand in West)

Which version are you planning to get?

PS4 11 50.00%

PSV (Japanese) 3 13.64%

Steam (PC) 8 36.36%

Total:22

Still not happy about this one.

Can still use my Vita with Remote Play for the game. Though I might just import the game on the vita anyway.

And no physical release, pff...

I don't buy that excuse for a second. If they wanted to go for a large screen experience, they wouldn't have made a Vita version period. It could be they just didn't see it as worthwhile to bring over the Vita version, but they can't admit that. Would make the fanbase very upset.

Also, sounds like my situation with PS3 games being left behind, but on the Vita instead. Hah, hah, hah.... >: T

Itss weird considering its already made for vita and they're translating it anyway. Shows how dead the vita is in the west

Well, PS3 has its sucessor out there and beasting, it makes at least some sense to push for the new system, but poor Vita doesn't, they support it on Japan because it sells there, but they can't even just release it here when they already have the game made on the engine and also will have the translation done? They are purposely avoiding the thing here! That's pretty sad.

I don't see why they don't just release both here honestly. They're already made, so why not just release other versions in small numbers? It doesn't sound good for Vita fans, and it doesn't sound good for me who was hoping for those other versions too...

Sounds like a poor excuse, sounds really bad for the Vita.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Looking at the visuals in the game, how did they come to the conclusion that big screen "immersion" would be a selling point?

Surely localisation for one platform also does like 70% of the localisation work (writing translations ofthe actual text) for the other platforms. Sometimes Japnese developers seem dense as bricks when it comes to things like this, its as if they don't want money.

I can't agree. This type of JRPG fits the Vita alot better.

No one buys a home console to play a quirky old looking 2D game. Get out squeenix. The place for this game is in the Vita.
