It's a video game, not homework. It doesn't need to "teach" anything.

Opinions are opinions.

Mine is that a good game teaches you how to play it. That's also a fundamental of good game design. Every time I go through a tutorial I cringe b/c its just evident of a lack of the prior to an extent.

Did you throw the same fit in the 90s for every game that had cheats?

It's there for people who want to fly through the levels and get to the next one, if they're having trouble.  If you don't like it, don't use it.  I don't understand why no one else should be allowed to do something merely because someone doesn't like it.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

Get a child a Nintendo Wii rudamentary motions.. This game is meant for a different crowd. I was pretty young when I first beat Star Fox 64, myself. Nintendo is trying to pander to a focus group that doesnt want real games if they are givng them invincible mode. This is exactly why the Wii was so popular and broke the mold. Most of the people who bought it werent gamers.

That's very strong denial.

It would explain why third party didnt sell well. Core games did not sell well on the Wii. Also, the new market that Nintendo found had been reportedly people who did not game normally. Thats why it was considered a casual console.

Good point. I would argue that even though they are included in the game, they aren't really encouraged (easily avaliable) as this is. Furthermore, as I've said before my argument/opinion is on the matter of principle and the very nature of cheats (being cheating ofc) where as this is presented as a difficulty mode  ergo a valid option/play choice. They could at least have a penalty or something even a superficial penalty, and if that is the case then I'll consider changing my opinion.

Functionally, its barely different from an invicibility cheat code, but semantically it makes a difference. And yes I am arguing semantics here, but like I said before its basically solved on whether or not the option itself is fine. That's not an interesting discussion and I don't see the merit in everyone and their grandmother coming in here and saying "It's an option so its ok." or "Don't like it, don't use it" stuck on repeat. Such a lazy argument.

Lol no problem with this.
But I'm also glad Dark Souls isn't developed by Nintendo.

Because? It was retorical, I know what you're trying to say and it's wrong. Dark sould could have an invincible mode and the experience would change nothing for people that didn't select it.

Reminds me of this

Yep 3rd parties sold really bad on Wii, about 550 million which is just a little under what 3rd parties sold on NES+SNES combined.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

I think even Souls games must have an easy option. I mean, I get that it's suposed to be a game aimed for hardcore player, but would it really hurt giving an easy option for people who's incapable of beating it?

there should be a mode, where when you select it you will directed to a YouTube playthrough.

Because the philosophy behind the Souls games is making the player persevere admist adversity. Remove the adversity, and the Souls lose their soul.

I agree.. maybe I would actually enjoy this game.

Same with Fire Emblem Awakening.

I just don't have the time to repeat the same mission or boss fight over and over and over again. I still have plenty of other things to do, so I wouldn't mind a casual run through such game.
