You're definitely younger than me cause i don't remember Nickelodean for those shows. Doug, Pete & Pete, Ren & Stimpy, Hey Dude, Are you Afraid of the Dark?, All That, Rug Rats. Those are shows i remember.

I still remember You Can't do that on Television (only five episodes), All that, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Angry Beavers, Salute your Shorts, Hey! Arnold, Aaaah! Real Monsters, and of course the ones you mentioned.

Though, personally I enjoy Spongebob as Nick's best show.

I'm 18. Shows I watched were Rugrats, Blue's Clues(lol best show ever), Spongebob from the beginning to '06, and so on.

Yeah we're 11 years apart. I watched the older episodes of Rugrats, probably until around '97. Never watched Blue' Clues, definitely too old for that. I did watch Spongebob here and there. It was probably the last legit cartoon on Nickelodean.

Haha, I'm not surprised you didn't watch Blue's Clues.

That and a show called Kipper the Dog were quite decent shows, especially Kipper(British voices makes anything 100% better).

I don't know what happened to "children" shows nowadays. I recall seeing an ad for a show called Sanjay and Craig. Absolutely disgraceful. I can't believe this garbage is popular with kids.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

When putting something up against nostalgia, it will always lose.

It's fun watching old stuff again, but I doubt I can get my kids to sit down for Dr. Snuggles when they have their iPad with Minecraft videos :/ It was absolutely fascninating as a kid.

Saturday and Sunday mornings were great. Of course heightened by the fact that you didn't have 24/7 cartoon networks back then, nor internet :p TV was still magic back then. Now it's that thing that provides background noise.

Going way back, the first animated shows I saw were Pinochio and Calimero in '77, I was only 3 years old, can still remember it clearly. A few years later The wonderful adventures of Nils had me captivated. Not until recently did I learn that all 3 of these were made in Japan. Maybe that's what started my love for Japanese animation!

I am 24, I remember many good cartoons on nick and cartoon networks, but maybe it's cause I am older now or something else, but most cartoons now are pretty shitty, samurai jack was the last one that I found good, not even good animes anymore; maybe I am just too old XD. Daria was pretty good too, I think nobody has mentioned it.

Just like videogames, I'd rather not waste my time with the crappy majority, but the few humble gems, nowadays, pretty much the only good cartoons are Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, and Gumball, and I'm ok with that, it's not like I use all the free time I have to watch cartoons or play videogames anyway.

That's not true at all dude, Paper Mario is probably my most nostalgic game and used to be my favorite for around 15 years, then something else came along that I simply loved more than it. Same goes with cartoons, I can easily say that shows like Gravity Falls and Steven Universe beat the crap out of some shows of my childhood.

Never say that you're too old for something, then you'll start believing it and you'll end up closing yourself up from things you used to love.

Cartoons these days are a joke. They used to be secretly educational.

Animaniacs anyone? Oh wait...feminists probably would have a fit over a show like this nowadays...pathetic.

I wouldn't say that they were educational, but rather well-written with care and ambition. There was lot of crap back in the day too, but the amount of crap compared to the gems was more even.

It's interesting you mention the Chipmunks. They have been around since the 50s and, technically, rebooted about every decade since.

I really have no problem with something I once loved, living on in a different way. I don't have to watch it, but a younger audience may find it just as enjoyable as I used to.

EDIT: I am going to get hell for this but, as a guy who GREW UP with the original Ninja Turtles, even I can admit the original cartoon sucked. I actually really like what Nickelodeon did with the new show, for the most part.
