Forums - Nintendo Discussion - NX launch line-up if or, let's be honest, when it releases this year?

Well, if that's true, so much for all those 3D Mario predictions!

Even if it is, how does that stop 3D Mario? Is NLG even big enough to be making two games at once?

I was just going off the phrasing of the rumor. "Planned to be Nintendo's impressive visual launch title." To me that would pretty much exclude a 3D Mario, since those games are usually the ones that try to showcase a system.

Ah true, and honestly I wouldn't mind getting 3D Mario later if it ment getting another Luigi's Mansion, though I also really want another Mario Strikers already. If only they actually did cancel Federation Force so they could work on more important things hehe.

Zelda U, Pikmin 4, a Nintendo Land/Wii Sports kind of game, 3D Mario (during launch window) , maybe even a Smash 4 port and a Star Fox Zero port (just a wild guess and nothing with a fundament :P), Call of Duty, Watch dogs 2, EA sports games?

"Luigi's Mansion 3 is planned to be Nintendo's impressive visual launch title. The goal I've been told, was when the team at Next Level and EAD Tokyo 2 saw the American commercial for Luigi's Mansion 2 (aka Dark Moon) their goal was to create something that visually stunning for NX and according to sources they have come "damn close to it" with one saying "it's going to cause arguments on the internet whether it's a bullsh*t or not despite us developers knowing you can achieve something like on the current hardware specs". The game uses a lot of advance lighting techniques to create this "living 3d cartoon movie" look with insanely detailed shadows and transparencies. It also shows off the haptic analog sticks, which will resist when trying to capture ghosts. An AR multiplayer mode is also planned to be in the final version of the game."

I dont see how tis project will affect on 3D Mario, especially because Next Level probably doing this game.

Mass apeling of 3D Mario and Luigi's Mansion can't be compared.

This sound great, I hope its true!

Next Level finished Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon at beginning of 2013. so they definitely have some other project they working on except Metroid Prime: Federation Force.

What he means is that if this is true and it launches with the system it highly unlikely a 3D Mario game will launch beside it as they'd cannabalize each other some what despite being different types of games, LM3 at launch would likely mean 3D Mario at the end on the launch year. It would be a more strategic and smarter option to save a 3D Mario game for the following holiday period if that spot in the year needs a big seller.

I already wrote, "hype, sales and mass apeling of 3D Mario and Luigi's Mansion can't be compared". I dont think those games would cannibalize each other.

After Wii U Nintendo really need biggest guns on launch, Mario 3D World arrived on Wii U when platform basically already was dead.

I have a feeling it'll be like the Wii U 2, while initial 3rd party support, but then absolutely crappy sales. Though I hope it isn't the case.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Too bad Geno/Dual Pixels is full of shit. Though Luigi's Mansion 3 is probably in development for the NX, it's a no-brainer after how well the last one sold.

The only Geno rumor that has some credibility is the Beyond Good & Evil 2 one, and only because Ubisoft wanted the Destructoid article to be taken down.
