Forums - Microsoft Discussion - A new beginning for Xbox

Since we have all been reading about the closures of many 1st party studios under the Xbox umbrella. I have seen many with negative forums and post. Normally when a company removes something for no reason, it could lead to bigger and better things, like buy outs meaning whose going to replace them. I am suprised so many gamers actually cared for alot of Kinect Studios, didnt gamers dislike Kinect and wanted Xbox to focus on actaul games? Hmm anyway here’s a list of some amazing studios Xbox might be trimming down to possibly acquire.

REMEDEY - a company that has proven under MS that they can make great games with creative freedom and a high budget.

MOON STUDIOS – With the release of the highly rated indie title and one of the best indie games released this gen in Ori and the Blind Forest, they have proven they can make low budget indie games and succeed under the Xbox brand.

PLAYGROUND GAMES – Do I need to explain the talent behind this studio? Forza Horizon 2 still remains to be one of the greatest next gen racing games and holds one of the highest metacritics for a racer going around this gen, only recently been surpassed by another Forza game in FM6. They work incredible well under Xbox and Turn 10 since there debate with Forza Horizon on the 360.

IRON GALAXY – After the departure of Double Helix being brought out by Amazon. Iron Galaxy hasn’t just lived up to the incredible fighting game in Killer Instinct DH made, but they have surpassed many expectations. They have a good and healthy history with MS and Xbox and could continue to carry the KI franchise to even greater lengths.

EPIC GAMES – Epic have worked very well under Xbox for many years, they created one of Xbox’s greatest franchises in Gears of War and MS have also supported Unreal Engine 4 with DX12. With Epic they can co-develop Unreal Engines to utilize DX12 and with MS behind the budget, they could do amazing things.

CAPCOM – Considering Xbox is a failure in Japan (No Surprises here) A well-known Japanese brand could make a good difference to win over the Japanese crowd. Not only is Capcom in a bad way financially but there recent effort with SFV proved devastating under Sony’s pay check.

UNDEAD LABS – The creators of State of Decay, have shown they have talent for survival horror games. There the type of devs Xbox need to continue to compete in the Zombie/Horror genre. They could be a clever pick up for Xbox.

These are just some examples of the brands Xbox could possibly pick up, now that they have the room under the Xbox banner.

What do you gamers think? Have I missed out on any potential companies possibly in a buy-out state?

And please, no Xbox haters.

They really need to buy all of them :P

I hope they don't buy Capcom. Capcom is too awesome to belong exclusively to one of the big three.

Good luck with that hahahaha! xD

Buy them just so they can shut them down in 2 or 3 years time? No thanks.

Yeah I really doubt they would do that. Especially with all the backlash they're getting this time.

I don't think Capcom would profit at all with a Microsot buyout. Franchises like Monster Hunter and Phoenix Wright need to be on handhelds, and their big series (Resident Evil, Street Fighter...), work well on any system, not just Xbox. So a buyout would heavily limit their audience, specially if they try to force the japanese market to buy an XBox (which is, at this point, impossible).

And besides, wasn't there a law in Japan that made buying japanese companies extremely hard for foreign companies?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Why would they shut down studios they just brought? Rare for example has been with MS since 2007.. that sort of paints your post invalid. I also dont see Mojang going anywhere any time soon.

Pretty sure they would have gotten some backlash after they closed down Ensemble, yet now they're doing it again anyway. It would be great if they were looking to expand their 1st party lineup, they've needed to for awhile now, but all signs point to downisizing. They've been criticised before for only having Halo/Gears/Forza and while that hasn't really been fair before maybe it will be soon...

But these studios seem like a little bigger than the ones they closed besides maybe Lionhead. I don't know why MS closed these studios but hopefully they'll stop and buy some and actually keep them :P

Lol did you just list Epic Games and Capcom?

Epic Games co founder recently criticized MS for trying to monopolize PC gaming. Their latest exclusive is for the PS4.

Capcom is a publisher and latest exclusive is again for the PS4, nothing will make the Japanee people love the Xbox unless MS buys Nintendo or Apple and they can't.
