@Puggsly I didn't double check but I was probably wrong mixing the too up.  I was right about the other stuff though.  I stuck to my guns but you've said contradicting things regarding the situation.  I'm not sure what you believe.  On one hand you agree with me but on the other you keep trying to disagree.

You werent "probably" wrong. You were wrong, you can't even admit when youre objectively wrong.

I'm not contradicting. My feeling has been exclusivity is bad for IPs because they completely miss an audience that wants that game. Which is a big reason I feel RotTR is in a better position.

You see again I agree.  I've been saying exclusivity is generally bad especially for Sony because when the game is multiplatform it usually sells waaaaaaaay more on its platform.  I was saying the TR deal was worse than the SFV deal.  They're both bad but I feel SE loses out more as a result of the deal rather then the quality of the game.

SE have a history of doing terrible deals with MS. They fucked up in Japan last gen with them on the 360.

RotTR is still going to sell really well on PS4 plus they got a lot of money from MS for timed exclusivity. Meanwhile SFV has nowhere to go but hope people buy it in the bargain bin down the road. Atleast that's the way it seems to me. Unless Capcom tries to hype versions that include content without grinding or a F2P version.

MS funded some JRPGs and some of them came to PS3 and PC. How is that a bad deal for SE? Again, you assume these are bad deals without considering the money that changes hands. If anything it was a waste of resources for MS because audineces were clearlying losing interest in JRPGs, Japan was buying less consoles, and consumers were moving toward more action focused western titles. The money MS spent on JRPGs arguably should have been invested in something else.

Give it a rest already, you just mock everything MS is involved with. This is why you have a history of bans.

You really think that Square Enix would not lend money for Hironobu Sakaguchi ? a man who made their biggest franchise.

JRPG still one of the biggest genres today, Microsoft took Star Ocean (Triple Ace), Ace Combat,  and 2 games from Sakaguchi.

Square Enix have a lot of potential sales of Tomb Raider on PS4 while Street Fighter V don't have a lot of potential sales on Xbox One, Xbox One now is less popular than Xbox 360, PS4 is where have the biggest user-base, they don't lost much with Xbox One's sales but the PS4's sales of Tomb Raider will aways be greater than the Xbox One version.

And isn't logical to say that Japan is Irrelevant when they still the 2th biggest Console market of the world.

The numbers we see in Japan have with them the Handheld market wich had the biggest drop so the Home Console market seems worse than it is only because Gameboy, PSP + Nintendo DS, were much more popular than Vita or 3DS, and the Japaneses have a Big Digital Revenue.

It's widely accepted that damage was done to the jrpg market because Microsoft bought up many of them early last gen for the 360. It definitely didn't do the IPs any favour.

Yes we know ps4 is a beast and it will sell well but the point is they will lose a lot of sales and they won't be for $60 either.  because SFV isn't a good game capcom aren't losing many sales at all. It's pretty straightforward

Now you blame MS for the decline of interest in JRPGs? Seriously, your anti Xbox agenda is stronger than I thought. People simply lost interest in JRPGs because its widely accepted they're boring and the genre hasn't progressed much since the 8 and 16 bit era. Its no coincidence the WRPG market grew while JRPGs became less relevant. The PS3 audience didn't flock to JRPGs much either, they were much more interested in WRPGs.

Again, MS gave money to SE to help compensate for lost sales and many Playstation users still get to play RotTR. Its a pretty good situation for that IP (I prediect RotTR will launch on PS4 for $60 with DLC). Nobody is saying SFV is a bad game by the way and Sony didn't buy exclusivity hoping for bad sales.

Now lets stop arguing the same points over and over. You already know what I think because I've told you multiple times.

JRPGs is still one of the biggest genres... but the most popular ones play look and feel like WRPGs.

Japan is almost its own bubble. Generally speaking, they aren't interested in the same content as the west (NA, Europe, etc). Look at Sony, huge in Japan and they can't seem to make games Japan really cares about so Sony focuses on making games for the bigger western market.

Anyhow, way off topic. Lets drop it.

ROTTR won, people can't seem to accept it. Oh Don I actually don't have to explain so don't reply to me.

Lol you just don't get it.  SE damaged those IPs by going 360 exclusive in Japan.  It did them no favours.  Widely accepted as a bad thing.  Not just my opinion.

And again you shift the goalposts.  You know I'm not saying it was bad for the TR IP. I'm saying it was a bad deal for se.

But on that.  It's actually not good for the ip.  Because it will sell less in total now then it would have otherwise.  That's bad for the ip.

Can you explain for me since you won't explain for Don?

Tomb Raider solution more. Street Fighter doesn't even feel like a complete game. I have it and haven't played it since launch week. Both games failed but I think Tomb Raider is the better game.
