Think what you like. No one here has proven me wrong, the problem, is when I list facts fans change the subject, much like what you’re doing right now instead of answering my post with a reply to my question. Your now asking me an off topic question. Ill bite for your question. The reason I brought an XB1 was so I can play Xbox games in my living room. I am not plugging in my giant PC tower in the living room.

Now back on topic. If so many of you say 1st party exclusives mean everything then what are PS4 gamers buying? Why hasn’t any of their 1st party exclusives sold 40m+ to match the console sales? Because gamers don’t follow exclusives unless you’re an extremist. They follow the big 3rd party games hence my original post which stats the truth. Sony's only 1st party title in the top 10 is a remastered PS3 game which was heavily bundled at launch. WiiU has the best 1st party titles and why isn’t the WiiU outselling the PS4? Because I goes back to what I said. Those games are a bonus to a console not a necessary.

The fact you didn’t even bother proof reading what I said, you have just proven me right. The charts don’t lie. Now if you have anything important to say related to my post then I will continue this conversation. If not I am not going to reply with your off topic questions.

Without reading any further than that and taking your history into account, it's more than likely you were, and you're just not admitting to it.

Considering your account history i dont need to say anymore.

As I said, software sales don't reflect why someone bought a console. So what's topping software sales don't prove anything one way or another. Your own words prove my point. "The reason I brought an XB1 was so I can play xbox games in my living room. I am not plugging in my giant PC tower in the living room." Thank you for actually answering that question, though.

The only reason why I responded to your post was because you think exclusives make no difference or that they are overrated which you're completely wrong about. They are extremely important to the big 3.

My point still stands. If gamers aren’t buying 1st party exclusives for a Console then what are they buying the console for? Clearly not 1st party exclusives because sale wise there nowhere near on the charts which is exactly my point. People and gamers are buying consoles for many more reasons than just 1st party games. The experience, the price, the hardware, the 3rd party support, the features and the most important one of them all… the marketing. 1st party games was always meant to compliment a console not drive its sales.

Yes i own all consoles, and i will always prefer buying Xbox titles on my Xbox, PC titles on my PC, PS titles on my PS and Nintendo titles on my Nintendo. But guess where i spend most of my gaming? On my PC where the major 3rd party support is. Is that a coincidence? No. Thats the way gaming is these days.

You just proved my point again. We're not debating what type of game sells the most or what games do gamers buy the most but why gamers bought a console. You bought all 3 consoles to play their exclusives.

I play alot of 3rd party games too but that doesn't change the fact that I bought my console to play PS4 exclusives and japanese games. Sales can't explain why someone bought a console. I bought my console at that particular time because I got a deal on it and some free games that I didn't play or want but I chose that console for it's exclusives. There's many people who bought bundles and didn't want the games it came with. Sales don't tell the whole story or explain the why behind a purchase.

Since you basically agreed even though you wanted to disagree and I proved my point with your own words, I'm done with this debate in this thread.

People are looking the subject in the wrong way.

If i buy a certain console, do i also have to buy EVERY exclusive that releases on that specific console?

That is one silly closed minded way of looking at the market.

I bought the Ps4 for its exclusives, as the majority of the consumers. I will buy Uncharted 4 but i dont like Gran Turismo. I bought Bloodborne but i dont like MLB The Show.

Does exclusives have to have 100% attach ratio so people convince themselves that exclusives are actually the reason to own a console? Of course not.

It is called: diversity of tastes and games.

If all consoles had the same games, what makes them unique? What makes you choose one over another?

In this specific scenario, what made you choose the Xbox One over the Ps4 when almost ALL Multiplatform games Run and Looks Better on the Ps4?

As i asked before and nobody answered, if you chose the Xbox One over the Ps4 even knowing that the games run better on the Ps4, what was your reason?

- Brand Loyalty?

- Controller?

- UI?

- Hate the Ps4 because reasons?

- Hate Sony?

People under estimating exclusives are being silly honestly. Because if someone thinks that the reasons that i mentioned before are more important than exclusive games, you are not a gamer.

Many exclusives are less main stream than 3rd party titles, or more niche is you like. Hence they sell less, but with a more diverse portfolio you draw in more different types of customers. That is what MS never understood or managed to accomplish.

And for those that never buy exclusives, just the annual CoD/Fifa and GTA, even they get some secondary influence from exclusives following the console of choice of early adopters. MS got that part working very well last gen, yet when pretty much abandoning the hardcore after Kinect they saw the diverse and continued support on ps3. Not a big surprise many switched or didn't bother to buy One.

I am not a casual gamer, thats the difference, i am an extremist or hardcore gamer where i collect games. Dont compare how i game to a casual. I own everything. But i game primary on PC because again 3rd party support. I also dont own all 1st party games on XB1 or PS4, infact there are many i havent brought. Becasue my varity of choice is high, i buy the game on the platform who makes it. If i had one choice i will choose the platform with the best 3rd support, like most casual gamers.

Sadly, I think this was the direction all along.  Phil spoke well and was excellent at leveraging social media to garner attention and even steal his competitions attention from their announcements.

It doesn't look good and I don't see how anyone can say it does.  That's a real shame also because I don't think they gave these differentiating games enough of a chance.  They were never going to be short term fixes but they could've helped alter perceptions for the next console and possibly reversed the stigma that haunts them but instead they've reinforced it.  Let's face it, after yesterday a lot of people thought "oh no, what about rare and sea of thieves or Recore or Scalebound or phantom dust?"

Like it or not, that's the impression they've created now and I can't see how that helps the brand.

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.

Exclusives  are just that something extra and mostly targetted to a specific smaller group of players that are also important and i do not realy need to tell you that not everyone buys all of them, so when a game sells a certain number then that doesnt equal players interested in exclusives..

For the casuals it doesnt matter as they just mostly buy third party games but the more allround hardcore gamers let exclusives next to brand loyalty decide which console to pick.(if not getting all) For me personally it feels like exclusives give a console the spirit it needs to be unique.

Guys, we're getting reports from this thread. I advise everyone to exercise civility when making posts. Just a friendly reminder, before things get any worse.

Thanks. If it gets any worse, I'd advise on locking.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).
