It's DLC only instead of JUST some invisible, digital file that sits on your HDD, you're also getting a collectable figure to go along with it. So really, if you have an issue with Amiibo, you're having an issue with DLC and DLC was made popular by companies other than Nintendo.

Positives = its physical, you can resell it and get a figure
Negatives = its still DLC and Microtransactions in some cases

It's the part regarding Kirby true? If yes, that sucks big time. ( no pun intended)

I'm fine with the content within the amiibo. So far I haven't played a single game where I felt like I was missing something withou them.

What I don't like, is that Nintendo is giving them too much importance, to the point that in the Nintendo Directs new amiibo are announced as if we were talking about full new games. I hate that.

Yeah, in almost full agreement with you BraLod. Since I as an older gamer, do not care all too much for all of this Amiibo priority getting in the way of the core game experience. I think one great aspect of it though is that it adds a physical presence and that probably has the added bonus of deterring piracy somewhat.

So if I want an ability I always had in other games I have to deal with buying a overpriced toy?
Fucking no, that's even worse than conventional DLC that would cost around $0.50 to unlock it (which would already be bad).

And "DLC was made popular by companies other than Nintendo" what that has to do with the fact that Nintendo is scaming people now? Nintendo is the only one to blame for it, don't spin things away, this is a Nintendo practice.

DLC is an industry WIDE practice. And yes, I don't like it (DLC). But it's not just Nintendo, it's everyone.

It's a single ability. Anyone can live without it, dude. Don't get me wrong, amiibo has the potential to become a plague, but Nintendo hasn't done anything outrageous with them yet. And they probably won't for a long time. So wait until amiibo actually gets out of hand.

bet: lost

I have 10 Amiibo, but I just want the figure. I don't care much about what they can do in a game.

The new Kirby Amiibo could very well be bundled like Wolf Link was for TP:HD

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Sigh, I wish every game was like Super Mario Maker where the amiibo is cosmetic and most are unlockable in game. Not this sort of this locked on disc dlc where you have to buy the right master key to unlock it.
