Which would be fine if not for the fact that according to this video sometimes the replay works and sometimes it does not.  If the same replay at times works then it means the stored data is correct.

Makes sense to me. Just like Halo 3, Brawl saves the inputs of a match, not an actual, compressed video. It just "recreates" the match based on all the button presses that were made...thus allowing you to pause and rotate just like in a normal game.

And just like playing SSB64 online, which also takes the inputs of each player, sometimes it lagged and then the players are not where they think they are. Maybe with these replays, something glitches for a split second, and suddenly the characters are a few inches to the left of where they were before, or it takes too long to enter in the controller inputs, off by milliseconds perhaps.

Then when Falco side-B'd, instead of knocking Kirby around like the first time, he's just side-B'ing around the middle of nowhere. I think it's possible, though I don't know if this is proof, and it apparently only happens on some custom stages.

Again, not what's happening. If the replay is working sometimes, the inputs were read and saved correctly.

The only believable error would be to poor disc read speeds related to the dual-layer disc causing it to not read the stored replay information quickly enough. There isn't enough proof to point to that though.

There is some randomness in Smash Bros. (as in most games) about how much power an attack has and other things. If the replay generates a new random number on each playthrough (bad programming practice) then for some matches the outcome can vary. Reasons for doing so could include space saving.

He lost all cred when he switched shots then tried to explain it away by saying that his digital camera batteries died. WTF?

i don't know about you but I can usually tell at least 10 to 20 minutes before my batteries die that they are about to. The camera usually has a symbole shped like a battery with a line through it flashing like crazy.

If that were the case wouldn't he just use his other video capture device instead of editing his video into two shots?

I call shinanigans.



There are still inconsistencies. How did it fix itself? WHy did he choose different stages? How was the timing exact? Why did he pause so much? I still call this fake.
