The games always felt great to me, I guess I overcame that "clunkiness". I do know what you're talking about, though- it's very awkward compared to traditional games.

And yeah, totally. Here's a sample of MH2(DOS) from PS2:

Compared to Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate:

Improvements are minimal (mostly only benefitting from higher resolutions). While I'm appreciative that they put function over form, I'm upset that they've completely ignored form for over a decade.

Yeah, I think not going balls to the wall with a big console MH is, IMO, a huge error in terms of appealing to the west.  It's a gosh darn ONLINE COOP GAME.  It's ALWAYS going to underperforming in the west when confined to handhelds.  And Nintendo not pushing as hard as possible for Capcom to do so is a massive missed opportunity.  Heck, go in 50-50 funding wise.  I really like MH4's controls and feel based on the demo but I have a hard time convincing myself to buy it when I know that every aspect of the experience is hampered by the platform.

Well, if the NX is a hybrd, that could potentially solve that problem and give MH a huge sales boost, both in the West and in Japan.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I don't have a WiiU or 3ds so won't rate the nintendo direct, I also seen just the last half of it.

Oh, also lol at a"new Direct format." New format my ass.

Let's see here...

Super nintendo games on the 3DS: That's pretty cool I might buy one or two just to ... only for new 3DS and no cross buy. Well never mind then, onto the trash It goes.

Starfox zero: Looks just as bland as always but atleast It looks like starfox and actually might be fun, I'll get It If I find It cheep.

Kirby planet robocop: Looks FREAKING BADASS, totally the best thing to come out of this direct.

Metroid federation force: Couldn't care less lol, still a trash game even If I don't care that much for metroid.

Toilet Paper mario: Poop splash: WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT NINTENDO?, another bland mario RPG oh wait I'm sorry I meant to say "action adventure" aparently these game were always of that genre, that has a run of the mill storyline no unique characters and a crap battlesystem? Into my ass It goes.

Starfox guard: Looks like a neat little minigame, can't believe nintendo actually went the effort to integrate this tech demo into starfox zero. Wait you're telling me this is a game on It's own that's going to be sold at full price?
I guess I couldn't care less then. Also slippys uncle might be pedophile just to let you guys know.

Super mario maker and splatoon updates: Awesome, great to see these games still being supported by nintendo.

Tokyo mirage sessions: Looks like a good game, I'm confused though, did they drop the whole fire emblem and shin megami tensei crossover they had going for?

Everything else: Either bland, okay or not worth talking about.

I rate this direct a solid 3/10, I would give It a 6 but paper mario really brought the whole score down.

That's right, they said there were making a new format, lol. The only thing new I noticed is the lag on the spanish Direct.

They dropped SMT years ago (only small reference in title left), but this game even related somehow to FE series from the plot point.

Yeah, it was awful. I missed all the Starfox stuff before changing to the YT english one, which works flawlessly. But they really, really need to work in that. It always worked like shit to me, but yesterday it was something else. It was totally weird, the image was painfully slow (this was new to me), so the gap between image and sound was like... 1 minute xDDDDDD.

I don't think they ever promised the new format would take place on the first Direct of the year.

TMS#FE is going to fail miserably without a dub, btw, so lol if you were hoping this would ever turn into a franchise. I don't know what microcosm people live in where they expect games like this to actually keep getting funded when audio from another language repels so many people from buying them.

I'd love to see Persona 5 try launching with this bullshit.

It would fail with a dub as well, dubbing it would just make localization time longer and more costly with little to no impact on sales.
