Forums - General Discussion - Playstation 3 Scratches

Who has a PS3? And who has noticed how easily the freaking thing scratches? Mine has trillions of scratches all over it. It scratches more than an iPod Nano. If I blow on the stupid thing, the force of the air itself will create enough friction to scratch it. Even the dust that settles on the thing scratches it. Even worse, the freaking finger prints. My PS3 is a finger print magnet. Even worse, if I clean the finger prints off, even more scratches are made by the friction of the cleaning cloth I use (which happens to be the PSP cloth). Why can't the PS3 have an outer layer of glaze, or glass, or something scratchless. It might not seem like much now, but 10 years down the road, when you go to a pawn shop, and want to buy a used Playstation 3, it's going to look horrible with all of the scratches on it.

Wii has this problem too, but not nearly as bad.

I think many of these "scratches" are actually smears, especially from the cloth. "streaks" can look a lot like small scratches, especially on dark plastic like the PS3. I have yet to have any issues with scratches as of yet, but it does colect plenty of dust.

i use my lcd cleaner thing, makes the thing sparkle. - what the hell do you people do with your consoles to scratch them up ??? mine has not left its space under the tv since i got it.

One trip to a friends house is all it will take to severely scratch your PS3.
