Forums - Politics Discussion - Why is there evil in the world, if God is all-powerful and good?

There are worms that infect the eyes of children, crawling around and causes immense pain, regardless of the free choices that child made.
Horrible diseases don't have much to do with free will then they strike someone.

This is why dualistic religions like Zoroastrianism fundementally make more sense than the abrahamic ones. At least in those, good and evil are equally strong forces that battle it out everyday and people's choices will tip the balance in that battle. A more harmonic world view IMO.

Being religious means having to answer impossible questions like that. I'm glad I don't have to do it.

I can do better than worms.

Type II Osteogenesis Imperfecta: Birth defect, no cure, baby suffers until he/she dies within his/her first year of life.

If that is the case its not a benevolent God also its said he is supposed to.love human kind.

If God is like this atleast Christianity is wrong also if he doesnt give a shit. Whats with the rules religious people have to follow. Why does God care if he doesnt care about our morality.

Atheists have no Bible they simply dont believe in any of the many religions.

Free will applies to humans only or have animals free will and why?  They were not eating any forbidden fruit. So why is there so much suffering and.death.for innocent animals?  Why do they feel.pain so.strongly whats the reason for their suffering?  God could have done a better job in designing the world less.cruel for them.

A There is nog god and all the suffering is mankinds own fault and god is not to blame since he doesn't exist

(belief of an atheist). And all cruelties ever committed aren't predestined at all. Since humans can actually be way worse than ones imagination can allow.

B God doesn't care and we are just an experiment to see what intelligent beings do with free will

Out.of those options I pick A. God as a mad scientist who.is not all.knowing is a scary thought.

The Problem is that god ist mighty in his level. Lets say we humans are in level 3 and god is level 13. God see everything, but can do nothing, because his is like a gost you must think, he cant touch us and we cant touch him. He is strong in his level and in other way we are strong in our level. Thats why only we can make a better world. We can pray to him that he help us, but he can only help us with our heart-chakra, not phyical. Our Quest is, that we must be a god, because we were gods and want to go in this world. If we can discribe the hell than the next world we can say that is realy a hell is our world. Thats why the 3D world is weak. We are now weak and "humans" with all properties. Its our Quest to get back a god in this "hell". If we made this we will never reborn (incarantion).

Except the god of the bible. He did some serious intervention.

True, hundreds of years ago (theoretically), and no one is here to tell us. How very convenient.

I'm not denying God's existence, I'm an agnostic. But if God exists, I'm sure he/she/it let us at our own free will.

I'm not trying to argue for the existance of a god. The opposite.

The guy that constantly spoke to prophets and sent bears to kill kids and flooded the world just decided to go completely silent. That's ridiculus.

Life is a jouney of evolution and completion through both kinds of events. The ones that can be controlled, and the ones that can't be controlled. What marks will be left on you, and how to choose to go on, both as a person, and as a civilization.

Well, who determined that God is all-powerful? Where did the person get that information?

Especially because in the bible (old testament at least) he's really not portrayed as omniscient or omnipotent.
