Street Fighter 5 will be the fighting game of the gen in a few months. The core mechanics are second to none, so if capcom delivers on the content it is a done deal.

The launch was a shit move, but that does not change the fact that it is an extremely well made fighter.

KI is a good game but not the best of genre in this console generation, smash 4, persona 4 arena 2, guilty gear, tekken 7, street v, ( maybe new dissidia ), pokken and mkx is better for me.

This thread is about the fighting game this gen. The topic creator didn't limit the discussion to certain subgenres of fighting games, so all fighting games are viable in this discussion. If you don't like what he did, then make your own thread where you exclude certain fighting games to point the discussion in a direction you like.

I would say it is a great game but it is not all that balanced at the current moment anyway. Hopefully Season 3 fixes that. I do love the graphics and the soundtrack and the vast array of characters.

But I would not say it is THE best fighting game of the generation. VERY good game though!

Seems like a bizarre question, given the recent release of Street Fighter. Complain about the launch all you want, Street Fighter will have way longer legs than Killer Instinct.

Smash Bros is a brawler, not a fighting game in the sense of MK, KI, SF or even 3D fighters.
The game mechanic is not the same.

I'm an Xbox fan, I own KI, I own a PS4, and I haven't bought SFV yet. I had it in my hands yesterday but that Jim Sterling video made me put it back.

And you know what? I STILL believe I'll enjoy SFV more than KI.
