Sony foot the bill, it's all gravy.

It is still the best fighter next gen where it counts.

Next gen? we aren't in the 9th gen yet.

This is actually really bad for fighting games. Capcom will have to release new versions down the line to recoup from this mistake. Its no longer a question of "if". Ofc the content will be fully available from the vanilla version, but repacks will have to happen.

This is exactly what I'm saying, and it cannot be understated. Capcom really fucked this up. Street Fighter is THE fighting franchise.

All they can do now is use their secret weapon, Nintendo vs. Capcom, and undo this mess.

Since when are the UK sales segnificant for Japanese games? XCX Dragonquest all did better in other european countries. UK isnt as important as it used to be for consoles

Release an unfinished game, get unfinished game sales.

So why is call of duty doing well?

As much as I love Street Fighter, I hope it did bomb. What Capcom pulled with this game must NOT be financially condoned. It doesn't matter that Sony backed it - there's no way Capcom will be happy about this.

Now hopefully they will learn from this when the NX launches with Nintendo vs. Capcom, and the game follows the Killer Instinct platform model, only improved. Maybe 12 characters at launch for $20. 6 Nintendo and 6 Capcom. Allow it to be playable completely for free by cycling through characters every month just like with KI. Allow people to purchase characters individually like with KI for cheaper. Release updates to the roster every year as DLC. Do it once a month just like KI. Be what SFV should have been for the fighting game genre.

Or do what MKX did and just launch off the bat content full. I don't care at this point just make the game real please.

So you also wanted splatoon to bomb which lacked content the same way? I recall you liked splatoon?

No, it didn't. Fighters aren't as big as they were in the early 90's so when you look at unit sales, you need to view them differently.

SFIV didn't launch in the 90s, more like 2009.

Here's what may have happen. SFV didn't have the same hype as SFIV because its frankly not as fresh, it didn't take a big leap the IP. The game launched on a single console, millions of sales are potentially lost not being on X1 (Sony is covering the cost of that). And ofcourse, the game is incomplete so casual fans will wait until it is and get it at a lower price.

Anyhow, its not a bomb. Its gonna sell millions, Sony is paying the bills and I kinda doubt Sony anticipated record numbers. I'm sure there will be a lot of bundling and boasting of bundle numbers though.

Every CoD I played had the campaign on launch.

SFV launched as is because Sony wanted a notable game quickly and Capcom probably needed to meet a launch date.

CoD games get called a lot of things, but I don't think unfinished is one of them.  Activision has that series running like a well oiled machine.

Its pretty unfinished, it had one of the most mediocore campaigns in BO3 for any fps game. Many fans said that

Well, it would be understandable if it did.Prior to buying it I didn't check how many characters the game had right now.I was expecting more than 22 to be honest...Also many of my favorite characters are missing.
