Forums - Gaming Discussion - Does PC finally have the Exclusives console gamers want to make it worthwhile as a 2nd gaming device??.

The reason PC will never compete in raw numbers to consoles is because it is to versatile as a system. It has absolutely nothing to do with games. Most people like simplicity, having a system already built for every game released in the coming five or so years, that is what has made consoles so popular. The console market will shrink, but only because it is competing with something even more simplified in tablets/smartphones.

It'll shrink because of the popularity increase in PC gaming as of late. As well as the fact consoles are becoming lackluster in what you get for what you pay.

The main problem I have with PC gaming is I love owning physical reusable copies of my games. I don't like digital and Id have to really really really want a game to buy it if it were only digital and not physical.

I love watching my collection grow, when I own digital I lose track of what I own aswell as the fact if/when I decide I want to sell my collection I'll make back a ton of the money I have invested and some games are worth more than what I originally paid for them.

Two things:

1. How are open platform smartphones simpler than closed platform consoles?

2. Is not the PC gaming userbase larger than console userbase?(since you mentioned mobile gamers I assume you don't care what they are playing.)

Purely from the perspective of a console gamer, absolutely not! Building a relatively expensive piece of hardware to get a good experience is not the way to go for most console users since it's counter intuitive to their ideals ...

Most of them would be better off just getting another console instead of delving into PC gaming ...

My PC that DOESN'T even have a graphics card yet it costed more than the PS4 and X1 COMBINED!

PC is the best for gaming imo. It has the best from consoles, the best graphics potential, the best indies, best prices, best peripherals, best stores, best OS etc... no one can argue with that.

I'm not a PC gamer though but really building a PC to game is getting enticing more than buying another console.

Actually, those are quite arguable. The others, perhaps I'd agree, but the highlighted, particularly about having the best from console, I completely disagree with.

OT: For me, PC has always been a worthwhile device. I just finally positioned myself to "jump in" nearly 4 years ago and haven't looked back. It's my main gaming/work device and that'll probably never change.

Having console exclusives and multiplats and indies imo is the best from consoles...

You mean the best circumstance? Because I'd say PC still has a way to go before having the best exclusive games from the consoles.

There will always be exclusives from console makers and third parties that will never see the light on PC yes... the same can be said about PCs to consoles. Imo this gen is more about indies and multiplats up til now. Both are better on PC. I'm not the one liking PC gaming but you gotta admit it's the best all around. If I could I would have a smaller PC besides my tv and enjoy multiplats, Windows10 exclusives and SFV all in better performance. Best racing, bes shooters, best rpgs, strategies, open world, mmo etc.

I would have to disagree. Excepting Nintendo, the exclusives on consoles(PS/XB) are standard fare. Nothing which makes them stand out from multiplats, with the exception here and there. Meanwhile the PC has entire genres unique to it: RTS, CRPGs, Simulators, MOBA, etc, etc. What exactly are the outstanding exclusives curently on PS4/XBONE? Within the last year I enjoyed City Skylines, Pillars of Eternity, Undertale, Xcom 2. PS4 had Bloodborne and Xbone I will admit I am quite ignorant of.

I think you're asking the wrong site imo.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Yup, then we'll always disagree.

Yeah I was interested in why we disagree. Again, what are the stellar PS4/XBO exclusives that makes PC as a platform have "a way to go before having the best exclusive games for consoles?" I am legitimately interested just so I can know if I am missing something here.
