As is often the case with VGC, most of the commenters are totally misinformed. Kesha testified in a completely different case unrelated to this that she was not sexually assaulted by Dr. Luke, allegedly on the advice (read: "If you want your career to live you say this) of the label's lawyers. The whole argument here is that she was forced to lie under oath because he (allegedly) threatened her. She's screwed either way on perjury and she doesn't seem to care. The CURRENT issue at hand is that she is arguing that Sony should let her go or move her completely from the control of Dr. Luke's label because both sides refuse to make music. The contract, I believe, was for seven albums, and she needs six more*. Problem is, Sony's offer is to move her from his label but require him to directly produce half of the songs on each album henceforth, meaning she has to work with the man who (allegedly) raped her directly still. AND he'd still make a chunk of profits off of her work (which probably makes her sick).

Unrelated but she also hates her music but she can't up and change her sound because Sony has to approve any album for it to count towards that six.

She's not at this point to my knowledge arguing anything towards the rape allegation, she just wants to make music again without being near this guy.

Lastly, take into note that she's been under contract for a decade now and that this case has been going on silently for two years. It's not like this is a new issue that just suddenly came up. Look into the history between the two, if you're curious. She's openly hated the guy since at least she was famous enough to be heard. Hell, most of the famous singers that have worked with the guy seem to be in agreement that he's a piece of garbage.

*I think she released an EP at one point that may or may not count for that minimum.

So Sony is making it hard not only for her but for themselves. Brilliant! lol!

the most dumb petition ever seen/

Well, my part in this thread escalated rather quickly. Sorry guys, didn't mean to bring any bad blood out in anybody, just meant to try to inform people who were running off of misinformation. Now that that's done I'll step out unless I see I'm quoted again and need to respond or something.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

So, we should boycott Sony cause a JUDGE ruled in their favor?

Thats brilliant.  I mean WoW.

The easiest things to boycott are things you don't use. So if you aren't a Playstation fan, its easy to boycott Sony stuff.

Its strange so many are supporting Ke$ha, even financially. Does Dr. Luke have a history of rape or something?

Woah wait a second.

M$ and Ke$ha.  Seems fishy.

Maybe they just want $ony to not $ell Play$tat$ion.

Wait.. Someone really got banned because of a thread about Kesha?? xD

I'm curious to see how Sony will respond to this, if they even respond at all....

Kesha loses on this as well.

either:

A) she lied about the rape, to get out of a contract, which makes her a scumbag, because of how damageing a claim it is, to the persons accused.

B) she lied about being raped, under oath, infront of a judge, and will face 5 years of jail time.

Also it sucks people even consider to boycott sony products, for something sony cant do anything about.
Shes already been offered to not have to work for that producer again, but that wasnt enough for her, she wants out of her contract.

You could be right but then again, what if she lied to the court with a lie.. and what if she was really raped and wants all the help she can get? This is why i stay out of these debates. I shouldnt even be here, i dont care for either party.

The thing is tho, she lied either way, if she was raped, then she lied under oath which is a felony and if she wasn't raped then she lied when she made the accusation, the only thing I'm saying is that I would like to see a justice system where there was just as much a punishment for the second one as there is the first, when you see what that sort of claim does to people's careers now it's sick how it can destroy an innocent person.

Like... either way you look at it, the only person you know for sure is lying... is Kedollarha

We all would like a justice sysem to be fair on both accounts. The problem here is just because she lied under oath doesnt mean she wasnt raped. She could have been paid to lie, we just dont know. Cases have been found many times where things like this come out years later and the truth come out where the victim was actually right. Kedollarha seems like she lied but the truth remains to be seen. Like i said before, We wont know and if it wasnt a big deal then she and 1/4 of a million people wouldnt be signing petitions. There a reason for this.

Even if she didn't lie under oath, the amount of evidence of her being raped is lacking.

Ad hoc ergo propter hoc
