Forums - Music Discussion - Your favorite childhood songs?

Around the Network

Creepy. I thought of making literally this exact same thread on Monday (I remembee cause grammys). I dont have a good short term memory.

My favourite childhood songs are all pretty much in spanish. La Camisa Negra, Cara de Luna, Mi primer millon, some Shakira songs, some Belinda songs, Ricky Martin. I actually dont remember too many, but those are classic latino music from the 90s onwards.

I'm a little sad I cant actually remember them. Makes me wonder when I got interested in music.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Ghostbusters movie soundtrack vinyl.

Footloose soundtrack is another favorite.

This!  Footloose was great, along with Top Gun, Vision Quest, and Purple Rain were also some of my favorties.

As a little one, I listen to the musicals Tommy and Godspell with my friends.  Yea, we were kind of odd kids.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Nothing beats the 80s ^^

Was from my Grandparents Record collection, still holds up well imo... but then again that's because I heard it regularly as a kid heh.

Basically anything and everything Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Green Day, Blink-182 and Disturbed released at the time.

Making me feel old with some of these "childhood" songs haha.

It was a song from the war my Mother used to sing to me: On Mother Kelly's Doorstep.

That brought a tear to my eye because I requested it at her funeral but the guy who was going out with her decided not to pass that information on to the funeral directors. I felt as if I never got to say goodbye.

I keep forgetting there's so many millennials here at VGC. A lot of what I'm seeing didn't come out until I was in high school, some of it even later than that.

As for me, my favorite stuff growing up was anything by Michael Jackson. I also enjoyed Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel. Back in '88 two of my favorite songs were "Kokomo" by the Beach Boys and "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin (perhaps not coincidentally, both were on the soundtrack to the movie Cocktail). I would ask my mom to play them on the jukebox whenever we went to Waffle House. But honestly there's just so much good music from the 80s that picking an absolute favorite today is hard to do. *sigh* I really miss the 80s. Makes me wish I was a kid again.

That's just because you were a kid in the 80's!

The 80's were awesome though, great growing up with MJ, Madonna, REM
Oh another favorite Hotel California

Got to turn that up, ugh makes me emotional :)

Guns and roses, Prince, Bowie, Queen, Abba, Meat loaf paradise by the dashboard light!

Of course not all was peachy, as the threat of nuclear war was ever present
Doe maar, before the bomb

And the Beatles were just coming out on that new fangled piece of magic, called a CD player. Great times.
