Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Why is Microsoft so bad at making interfaces?

As someone who is new to it, you know you can double tap the Xbox button to bring up the menu.  I just told my friend about that who has had it for a year, he had no idea.  lmfao

Yeah that caught me off gaurd recently. I got my Xbox One last year and always wondered about game recording and joining xbox live parties and never saw anything about it in the UI. Then out of no where my friend told me about that double tap trick. WTF It's actually a cool thing and word of mouth makes it even cooler.

You upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 on a Surface Pro4?

That's interesting.

where did I say that...?

I have however had about 30 relatively cheap laptops upgraded to Windows 10 for staff at my office.  Not one problem. Not one.

My friend uses his PC for high end multimedia and his upgrade to 10 still isn't working right even after a neccessary clean re-install. I'm pretty sure he upgraded from Windows 8. There's a lot of gamers who had a problem with the upgrade. I'm still going to do mine this month just for Killer Instinct and I'm doing a clean install. I don't anticipate problems this way.

Windows 10 looks just as bad as Windows 8. It still uses the shitty metro tiles.

You referenced using W10 on a Surface Pro4 in a conversation about upgrading from W7 to W10.  You tell me.

Also, do you really believe that sample size proves that other people aren't having problems on their personal and gaming computers?

Does it matter when you get the very same Windows 10 as he does in the end ?

This escalated quickly.

Windows 10 went back to the tried and loved formula with small enhancements borrowed from other OS's. I don't see how it's "far and away" the best UI when the rest of the operating systems are very similar...

Windows mobile 10 UI is bland and uninspiring.

X1 UI is actually nice, for some reason the big squares look nicer on big TVs

You didnt like Windows 8.1's interface?

I didnt like the metro app interface but after tinkering around and re-arranging everything - it is fine for me lol.

Funny how people were defending Windows 8 and telling others "you just don't like change". Thank god MS abandoned that mess of a UI.

Yeah, my win 10 has very frustrating problems almost daily on my laptop.

Its technically still there....

Some of older Windows elements found their way back to Windows 8 and some Windows 8 elements found their to Windows 10. I suggest you try Win 8 vanilla and count how many annoyances you encounter in the first hour of use.

An upgrade is never as safe an option as a fresh installation.
