*edit* This is what they're actually working on right now.  And it looks bloody fantastic:

ELEX:

Damn, thanks for pointing out what they're working on. Looks pretty nice from the shtos alone, I'll have to keep an eye on that for the future.

I'm cautiously optimistic about ELEX - while I enjoyed Risen 2/3, the last game from PB that I consider trully good was Risen 1...they kinda lost their touch a bit, IMO. I hoped for CDPR to make something that will be on par with Gothic 1/2 and carry on the torch, but as much as Witcher 3 was good with story and NPCs, it was not Gothic good when it comes to world design and open-world RPG-ing.

I still hope PB will take their time (and find enough money) to make some time in the future what all of their fans want - a proper sequel to Gothic.

I'd rather play The Witcher.

Oh boy I totally forgot it's the same devs that were behind the Risen series, I'll be staying a few steps away from it and just watch from afar, especially upon release. I still remember AJ reviewing the first 3 Risen games and how they played out. I still hope they manage to hit a home run with this new game of theirs though.

Sony doesn't need an answer to fable, seriously that franchise is overrated. If it were a multiplatform game nobody would care about it.

Hold your horses right there. Fable is awesome and far from being overrated (they're considered mostly good/great games); Fable 1 and 3 are multiplatform and people do care about them. Your argument is invalid.

Personally i like rpgs that take me longer than a day to finish lol

If you're reffering to Angry Joe - yeah...he's kinda laughing stock among PB fans, he couldn't play Risen games if his life depended on it (though he claimed he's a Gothic fan). As I said, Risen 1 was quite good game, Risen 2/3 were ok, but nowhere near good as Gothic.

Well I did also watch other players but it's not like the series is highly acclaimed to say the ES series =P, there has to be a reason as to why they didn't sell/performace/look as good as hoped.

Fable games are awful. Sony doesn't to have their own version of it.

True, Risen is not as good as PB's earlier work...though, if you liked Gothic, Risen 1 is something that you should like, but 2/3 were different and not as stellar.

As for acclaim and sales - western open-world action-RPGs were never really something that was really mainstream...apart from TES where Bethesda almost consistently dumbed down every new iteration to make it more appealing to general gaming population (and the sad fact is that TES has been in free fall when it comes to quality from Morrowind onward), and that's about all that average Joe knows of the genre.

Anyway, I'm hoping to see someone, if not PB, making another splash in genre similar to one they made with Gothics - sure, there was Witcher 3, but honestly, for every step forward it took, it also took one step back...let's say my hopes are not very high, but I'm still somewhat optimistic.
