So i got an playstation and the thing i miss the most, is fable.

I loved playing the first game on my pc and the second on an friends xbox years ago. While searching for an good alternative on my ps4, I found folliwing game:

Arcania - the complete tale

It got released last summer, without much marketing. Its not a super high budget game (voice acting is not the best) but the gameplay is fantastic and the graphics are alright. Its not that easy to find an copy, but you can get it digital without much trouble.

The gameplay and overall feel is very similar to fable, but its a litte bit more mature and realistic setting. I like that. For all those who are looking for an good casual like western rpg thats similar to fable on their playstation, i can recommend this game.

I played 3 hours so far (just finished the first tutorial island) and really enjoyed it so far.

I can also recommend to play on the difficulty "gothic" for an "dark souls like feeling". Not as good as darksouls, but still very enjoyable.

I wouldnt put these two games in the same league as eachother. just like Sony's answer to Killer Instinct. I am no fan of Fable, but Fable is Fable.

You've edited your post twice already, all 3 posts being a slightly different dig at sony. Make your mind up on how you're gonna have a hack at the company you hate.

Anyway, people say don't judge a book by it's cover but... something about that cover is just... off.

Iv played Arcania and i can tell you and many others, i would prefer to play Fable and i dont like Fable either.

From a glance I would say the same, Fable looks like a much better game, though similairly to you fable isn't exactly my cup of tea. (Though I only played Fable 3 which i've heard a lot of fable fans weren't overly keen on.)

PlayStation has always had a diverse line of games, so releasing a game with similar aspects to another is expected. If Xbox could improve the diversity (which would improve the competition), that'd be great. I kind of don't like that Sony is selling way more because most likely in the long run, they won't try as hard. We need all companies to be at their best. In the end, the consumer wins and that's important. Might try this game when I get a PS4.

Arcania, which launched as Arcania: Gothic 4 is game that came into existence when Piranha Bytes, creators of Gothic, one of the best WRPG series out there, parted their ways with publisher JoWood and latter hiring Spellbound to make sequel to Gothic 3 (which they miserably failed).

It's really not very good game, and though Fable 3 was a big let down, this is a lot worse.

I couldnt even get into the first Fable which was apparently very good. The 2nd one was by far the best one while the 3rd was a step backwards, as for  Jounrey.. lets not talk about journey. I will try Fable Legends, but i am not holding my breath for it to be any good. 

Its like Fable... but not really...minus the charm .

I think it's a little series ... something about battles fought on highways.  Road Wrestler V?  Something like that.  Nothing that can compete with Killer Instinct.

On topic, RPGs aren't really an area Sony needs to worry much about.  Third party titles alone give Playstation an overwhelming lead in that department.  Still, I would like to see a few more western developed RPGs.
