In regards to 4K + IPS + 144Hz, I wasn't aware than an IPS of those was even on the cards!

Well, that's the thing. I don't think there's one in the works yet. That's why I say that it would take some time.

You'll have to settle for 4K+IPS at 60Hz, 4K+TN at 144Hz or 1440p(16:9)+IPS at 144Hz (some with G-Sync).

CPU: Core i5-5200U CPU at 2.2GHz

GPU: Unspecified built-in nvidia GeForce GPU. Not even sure how to identify it to be honest.

RAM: 8GB, no idea of the type.

Fairly standard work laptop for web browsing and word processing. I don't play games on it.

Assuming you're running Windows 7, right click on your desktop => click screen resolution => advanced settings and you'll see it.
