Forums - Nintendo Discussion - WiiU-only owners, would you have bought 3DS games if they were on the U?

I only own a WiiU and

some 3DS games I'd like to own. 97 90.65%

no 3DS games interest me. 10 9.35%

Total:107

People still buy N64 / GC / SNES games from the VC.
Yes people would buy 3DS games if they where also on the Wii U.

"With the possibility that the NX might allow games to be playable on all Nintendo hardware, do you think that being able to play handheld games on your home console would lead to more sales for Nintendo as a whole?"

Yes. No more game droughts with the NX, is bound to help it alot.

There are way more games on 3DS that interest me than on Wii U. But they're not gonna get my money until they put in minimal effort and bring them to a platform where they're actually playable.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Since I don't own a 3DS, yes.

I never really have time for a handheld game when I'm out, and when I'm at home I'd rather use a console. If there had been console versions of Luigi's Mansion 2, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Fire Emblem: Fates or Bravely Default, I would have bought them.

Yes its jrpgs type games interest me

^ this is actually why Im already much more hyped for the NX than I ever was for the Wii U.

I thought the WiiU was going to be the transitional hybrid console the NX people are pushing for.

3DS had some nice console type games such as Luigi's Mansion 2 or Kid Icarus Uprising.

Still I wished games like Advance Wars or Picross 3D came up on the U.

Here's a list I made at the beginning of the generation regarding WiiU titles:

Here is my list in alphabetical order...

  • Art Academy U
  • Advance Wars Unlimited (O_O)
  • Big Brain University
  • Dr. Mario
  • Endless Ocean III
  • Picross 4 U (3D and normal)
  • Project Zero Unsettled (/Fatal Frame)
  • Super Mario Universe
  • The Legend of Zelda: ...
  • Wii Sports Land (mesh between WSR, NintendoLand and Go Vacation)

An extra: The Clubhouse Games as an eShop title. Perfect for online gaming!

You say tomato, I say tomato

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

there are quite a few handheld games i would love to see on the big screen.

Mario and Luigi
Animal Crossing
that one Kingdom Hearts game
the Legend of Zelda remakes
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon

i have a 3DS as well, but some of these i just want on the Wii U

Yes would of bought quite a few games especially since its the only platform that really has proper JRPG's anymore along with some other great games, My main problem with handhelds is I don't travel anywhere to make use of it and my playtime on a handheld would be basically sat in front of a TV which is fairly pointless to do.

I also didn't get my Wii U until late on but if it played 3DS games I would likely of got it 1-2 years earlier. The prospect of these games been on both platforms next gen with the NX along with great third party support is exciting.

There will always be a crowd who would like to play the games that release on handhelds but dislike playing an handheld so never end up playing them so it should profit Nintendo going forward to bring this group into the're ecosystem.

Seeing as I have a 3DS and barely play it, yes I would. OoT and MM could have been way better if they were remade on the Wii U, in HD. Also, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon would make sense because the first one was on the GC, and Kid Icarus Uprising would probably have better controls too.

*If* the NX can play handheld games on a TV, I'm never buying a portable again tbh.

Hmm, if all the 3DS games were available on the Wii U, I would have probably not bought a 3DS. Wii U would have been fine with me.
