Forums - Gaming Discussion - Can Destiny be enjoyed alone?

I can get Destiny: The Taken King fairly cheap right now $AU55, but not so cheap that it's just a mindless buy.

I don't have any friends that own and Xbox One and I'm fairly anti social online. I love playing online shooters with randoms, but I don't make friends online and never play at consistent times so I won't be able to meet up with the same groups very often.

Can Destiny be enjoyed alone or at least can I just meet up with random people and have a good time?

Also, having kids I tend to quit games when I'm needed so will this effect the experience for others?

Australia-based and curious about this as well.

Generally Destiny seems to be 'decent' with a group. So I am curious as to whether its worth the money/time investment to blast through on my own.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Destiny single pkayer is basically an atari game with high score. U will end op grinding in eternity for points and weapons

You can use DestinyLFG to find groups of players to play the game with, I used to use it all the time. You can play the game alone but you'll more than likely get bored quickly as the game has a lot of grinding in it. Also the fun activities pretty much require friends or the use of the website I mentioned above.

All in all if you don't mind using DestinyLFG to find groups to play with then I'd say get the game, if not then I would say pass on Destiny.

Yes, it's fun to play by yourself. In some ways it's better since you get to enjoy the atmosphere instead of hearing your teammates chatter. The game really looks and sounds great.

But whether you like the game is a different story. I think it's a great/fun game, but if you're looking for something with a memorable (or even coherent) story or epic amounts of exploration then you'll be disappointed.

Curious too, as this is what made me not get destiny when it first came out.

So DestinyLFG is an external website? Not something included in Destiny?

Hmm doesn't sound great so far.

Also just for the record: I mostly enjoy online games like COD or Mario Kart where I can get on, have a game for 15 minutes and get off again.
