Halo and Gears (and Forza) ARE the Xbox brand... and it's definitely not enough.

If this was the case, surely attach ratio for those games should be close to 100%? They are the flagships of the brand. But I agree, MS needs more.

Well you have people like me screwing the metrics.  I have a Day One, a MCC White, a Halo 5, and a Elite console.  But I only have 1 copy of all 22 physical exclusive games released (not counting RotTR because PS4 pending).  That's only 25% if you don't count the bundled digital only copy.

You'd have to be pretty dumb to buy a Xbox without picking up Gears and Halo, especially an Xbox One that has very little else going for it right now.  That's like picking up a Wii U and only buying Barbie Dreamhouse and Jeopardy and not having a single Mario game.

There's people who only buy a console to play multiplat games with their friends. I wouldn't call them dumb just because they don't buy Gears or Halo..well unless their friends play PS4. There is other reasons to buy X1 than just those two games, even console exclusivity is a thing since not everyone wants to play on PC. Majority of console owners are casuals who buy only few games a year, so a huge amount of exclusives isn't necessarily a deciding factor when choosing a console.

I have to disagree. Microsoft stated many times already that they want to make XB1 last as long as possible. They like long term consoles (like Sony) and will probably support if for a long time. I mean, the XB1 might not be leading the generation, but it's still healthy and selling decently well. They could carry on this moment for more 3 or 4 years without major problems (like they did with X360, which started much worse).

If i can say this, at start they stated many times kinect was parts of XboxOne and than have remove this, so mind can change overtime, plus long as possible depend on point of wiew from them not us ^^

But on OP, i can see rumor for 2018 and a launch in 2019. but not early.

Lol sony fans are thirsty for attention. Xbox one is performing good. You guys make it seem like it's doing horrible because you fanboys want that. Xbox one is doing good and with future titles it will sell more. And no I highly doubt every Xbox exclusive will come to pc. Only games that will come to pc are games that don't sell well.
Nice try though but keep trying to downplay Xbox.

The Xbox One is selling terrible compared to the PS4. In some regions like Germany or France it gets outsold by the Wii U. In Japan nobody cares for the console. Microsoft is losing much ground in all these regions. They need to move on in order to get back what they once "owned"

And it looks like that that is Microsoft's plan. Every formerly announced Xbox One exclusive is coming to the PC. They don't even care to sell more Xbox Ones. The bring these games to the PC because they may not be profitable on the small userbase of the Xbox One. Maybe they will port some big upcoming games like Gears of War 4 or Scalebound to the Xbox Two.

What do you think? IMO everything points towards that Microsoft is planning to replace the Xbox One ASAP.

No chance a successor will launch in 2017 or 2018 because the business plan will last until ~2020 so there will be at this stage absolutely nothing will have been planned out for a sucessor.

Xbox will eventually be a cross platform service where hardware is almost irrelevant. As will all gaming eventually.

This.

It's a nice idea but very unlikely because then a business is paying for the hardware rather then you. If gaming is all done on the cloud, the only way hardware would be irrelevant, then who bares the cost for the data centre that has to render the game and pipe it to the customer? Currently the software isn't out there, nor is the bandwith or the customer demand.

XB1 has sold 3.5 million more (aligned sales) than X360 so far.

We don't know how much it's sold, honestly. MS won't give numbers to purposely keep us in the dark.

The next Xbox will not be called two, it will becalled the 720 or any number higher than ps5. I doubdt they will make that mistake again Windows 10 anybody

They will call it Xbox 12, because they will launch Windows 12, and launch the Console.

No way are they releasing a console that early!!! That is impossible! XBoxOne was built to be a decade long machine!
