Thoughts?

EDIT: Crap, if a mod could change this to a Nintendo discussion, that'd be much appreciated.

EDIT 2: Removed Inazuma Eleven 2, as I've determined it to be a Level-5 owned game. Also made some minor fixes.

I love just how explosive the Wii brand was. With around ten games they sold more in one generation than some of the biggest franchises of gaming ever did in their whole existence. And a generation after, nobody remembers the Wii brand. It's amazing.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Pretty amazing how much Wii Sports sold, even if it was bundled with pretty much every console. One thing though, Animal Crossing City Folk was released on the Wii, not DS

Granted, probably at least 80 million of those sales were from being a pack-in with the Wii, but even that aside, at 120m they've outsold Tomb Raider, The Legend of Zelda, and every single franchise owned by Sony and Microsoft (expecting Minecraft), and puts it toe to toe with Sonic the Hedgehog and Final Fantasy, franchises over 20 years old with several dozen games under their belt. Damn.

Dammit, that puts DS totals JUUUST under 300m. Thanks for the catch.

Only the Wii series during the 7th generation sold almost more than 100 million copies than the whole GTA series combined even with GTA V. Even though GTA V has some impressive numbers

Crazy numbers though too bad a few games didn't make it to a million

That´s so sad.

Well, it was fun having a great generation.

Let´s hope they recover next time and learn from their mistakes.

Wii sports resorts is such a fun game, I still play it when my cousins visit me, still the top ten is meh, but makes sense considering most of the people that bought the wii were casual players.
