I am a few months into playing. Its a lot of fun. Certainly has its flaws, and if you don't like the freemium model in general, this won't change your mind.

But its a wonderful little trip down Star Wars lane, and it is Disney-endorsed and therefore canon!

It is a bit grindy at times if you want to play completely free.

Currency in bulk is REALLY expensive, but if you find you're getting into it you can pay ~$5 per month (not subscription, so you can decide each month if you're keen) for a decent amount of in-game currency you recoup daily.

Really fun crew system, and giant sector battles with the whole community around once a week.
