Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 Owners Are Already Set For VR - Sony

It's really hard to get excited about VR in it's current form.

I can see this being massive failure for Sony.

What's wrong with its current form? Do you seeing Oculus being a massive failure, as well?

The only problem Sony or Facebook have with VR is showing people exactly why they need to have it.  I see it as a great replacement for monitors, above and beyond the gameplay aspect.  But, showing people gaming experiences and conveying to them how great it is, without them trying it out first (which most people will not have the opportunity), is really their biggest hurdle (well...next to compelling IP/experiences, of course).

Sony is at a Nintendo like level of dilusional when it come's to VR.

You can't be delusional with a factual statement.

It's pretty clear that he was talking about not needing extra hardware..but yeah...evil Sony.

The only one that understood! Sad part is, it's in the OP, but apparently, people don't like reading those!

I know, it's very, very difficult to actually make an effort to understand what we're commenting on.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

personally I would see them both as having mediocre success at best. far too many limitations and restrictions due to processing power exist and the simple fact many peoples brains have a lot of trouble adjusting to VR without throwing up.

Give me price 1st.

When taken into content, he says that all ps4 owners are ready for virtual reality because after the purchase of the headset there are no other hardware requirements. Obviously, he is contrasting against the PC requirements. This statement is correct when viewed in context.

yeah bro, you very well know why the media didn't say 'already set' , and took only that sentence from his speech and made it the headline.

Was already set for the cheapo free VR experience that is Google Cardboard.

I'd like to get VR whenever it factors down to wearable AR-VR sun glasses, instead of the dive masks we currently have.

I think they are a bit overconfident in this....

im 100% sure there is arbitrary interpretation all over the place. even though the meaning of the words in title is clear as well-water.
