Which claim? And by that same token, do you?

I know I do:

Zelda games

Mario games

A multitude of jrpgs

Steetpass

Free online

Games that hold their value

Best downloadable titles

And a bunch of other shit

It's clearly the best platform currently on the market

Oh Jesus Tapdancing Christ......Settled! The 3DS is the best system out there! And a bunch of other shit! Thanks for setting us all straight.

It's time to move on because the next console is coming, however the 3ds has been outdated since launch so I don't see why complain now.

Like whatever you want, the 3DS is a great system after all, but please stop stating your opinion as facts. You are doing this quite often in threads.

I agree that it should be replaced, but not because of the hardware itself. It has barely had any interesting games in the last 2 years...

This.

It's still selling pretty well so they should keep it around for a few more years. Why drop a system that is still moving a lot of hardware and software

Because they want to move a lot more hardware and software and a new system could be what achieves that. Nintendo want to return to ""Nintendo like profits" and it wasnt just the WiiU holding them back.

Since when was the 3ds holding them back? It's not selling as well as it was in 2013 or 12 but its still making them money. Moving on from the Wii u is probably way higher on their priority list at the moment. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the 3ds is just starting to be phased out in late 2017 or even early 2018

People that criticizes a console or a handheld based on graphics and specs instead of their games or the fun factor should stop playing games and start going to the outside world where they can find a wonderful view with the best specs, graphics and framerate, it's called: real world.

Exactly.

I agree, here.

So, ideally, everyone would end their posts with "in my opinion"? Isn't it clear to anyone who disagrees with him that it's just his opinion? Or do you fear that some people will be foolish enough to believe that whatever he says is fact? Or perhaps do you fear that more people like PxlStorm will take offense at his opinion when it's stated as a fact?

Ridiculous.

Honestly, I think the 3DS has perfect graphics for the types of games that it mostly plays. The system is filled with great niche JRPGs partly because the low-res screen allows for such short development times. It doesn't take much effort for a developer to push the boundaries of the 3DS, but it will likely take a lot of effort to push the boundaries of Nintendo's next handheld. I cringe to think how many fewer low and even medium budget games we're going to see on Nintendo's next handheld if it has development timelines anywhere near that of the Wii U. You can definitely say goodbye to yearly Etrian Odyssey releases.

They can still likely offer those smaller, niche games as digital only releases for $20-30. Just because the hardware is more powerful doesn't necessarily mean budgets have to increase a ton.
