Forums - Gaming Discussion - I know the many of us do NOT like Gamestop but...

I still got to EB for most of my games. It's always been fine for me. I try to limit talking to the people who work there, though. They kind of just talk about the same stuff all the time.

Haha, that's nice. Usually I am pretty against buying from GS, unless I have to... And I think the staff are too young to appreciate the classics... ; )

And being a sempai is usually a good thing! xD

They're nice people.

Bold: Thanks...

I am all about Nintendo and GameStop is the furthest thing from what I would enjoy going into. If it's not a sport game or another Call of duty/halo clone then the 20 year old virgins behind the counter don't care.

Last time I went in and over heard a conversation regarding how old school the clerks were. They mentioned playing retro games like Halo, GTA Vice City and "world war two style call of duty." I just shake my head and left like I usually do because they never have what I want or would like.

The older I get the more I hate young gamers.

Interestingly, this one time I went to a different GS I was buying a Wii U game, and the clerk looked surprised and said "..You have a Wii U???"

I just just quiet for a bit and said "Yees? I do..." Haha, it's like it's a strange phenomenon. xD

I'm lucky if i visit a Gamestop but once or twice a year. Most of my stuff, i get from Amazon. Don't have to waste the gas, and games are delivered to my door on release, if not the day before.

I remember going into one ready to preorder Xenoblade. I mentioned to the clerk that I was very interested in jrpg's and that Xenoblade was what sold me on the Wii U. He paused and then admitted that he finds RPG's that aren't Dragon Age or Witcher to be boring.

I almost back handed a boy that day.

He probably thought JRPG means something like turn based old school japanese rpg.

I'll give you an actual exchange I had with a Gamestop employee back in, 2012 (the last time I stepped foot in one of their stores).

Me "Yeah, I'd like a copy of Xenoblade Chronicles please"

Him "Ok" (grabs the game, puts it down on the counter and begins typing shit up on his computer) "Would you like to sign up Power up Rewards..."

Me "No thanks."

Him "Really man? Are you sure?"

Me "Yeah"

Him "Why?"

Me "Just don't want to"

Him "Alright" *snarky laugh* "I guess you just have something against saving money"

Me "Yeah, guess so."

I wanted to punch this kid in the face, but I just dead panned it, paid, took my game and ran. That has been par for the course for me everything I have gone in the store over the last 12 years or so. So, I'm officially done.

Funcoland, on the other hand, was awesome. But after being bought out, the whole thing went down hill imo.
