Forums - Gaming Discussion - I know the many of us do NOT like Gamestop but...

I've never had a single problem with GameStop. I do not know where all the hate comes from, aside for giving you two nickels for your used games.

Amazon > Gamestop any day

Would be nice if Gamestop hired actual gamers

Well the gamestops in my country are closing so I don't think it matters what I think of them anymore, but I have been going there all my life and have enjoyed going there the majority of the time though. Now I have to start buying games online or digital.

The employees at my GS call me boss. o: Is it just my store, or did they start adopting that at other places. I still try to buy games elsewhere tho...

Two console generations ago, the manager then thought I was a Sony rep for the longest time.  I dunno why...

I buy games digitally. GameStop is Blockbuster to me.

The only thing keeping gamestop alive to me is that I buy used physical games to try them out before I go Digital. Then I return it and buy the game on PSN store.

Haven't been inside of a Gamestop since November. Whatever day Fallout and Tomb Raider released.

My local EBgames (Gamestop) employees are uninformed about anything not Xbox related so I rarely go to them the past few years.

I can disagree with that one in my local EBgames. But I can say that their Xbox shelf space is massive! And some reason they only have 4-5 Xbox Ones to try, while there is none for the other consoles.

Pocky Lover Boy!

The most significant change on my local Gamestop store on the past weeks is huge yellow Clearance Sale signs all over the store and an unusual lack of PS4 games.

Makes me wonder if EBgames/Gamespot makes a bit more profit if they sell Xbox stuff over their competitors.  My EBgames has 1 PS4 and 3 XB1 to try.

I remember when I was working one day. I was doing price changes in the morning. They raised the price of used Gears of War from 39.99 to 54.99. You could have bought a new copy for 59.99. I lost all faith in them that day. Threatening to write people up for not selling game guarantees was when I swore to only go there if I have to.
