Apple has a $200 billion war chest, should it buy Nintendo and Sega?

Forums - Gaming Discussion - Apple has a $200 billion war chest, should it buy Nintendo and Sega?

I think Nintendo is too big to be bought.First of all, 10% of Apple money probably wouldnt even be able to buy 10% of Nintendo intelectual proprieties.Second, Nintendo would first go third party than to let this happen, so that possibility is out of the gate. And third, Nintendo games are excellent because of the companie vision and direction.Sure, once in a while they dont make a game that is their normal standard(even though the game is still good), but for most of the time tha games are beyond excellent. And that happens because they care more about the quality than making money. What I mean is that they prioritise the quality of the game over the release schedule and the "make money fast" mentality that many companies have.If Nintendo would ever be bought by any companie, that mentality of quality first would not go with, because they would need to answer to someone else, and this someone else most likely wouldnt share the same mentality. So no, Nintendo should never be bought

Nintendo wouldn't even entertain the thought. Don't know about Sega.

Apple wouldnt even entertain that thought.

Yeah it's a bad investment for Apple!  Especially when Nintendo will soon be developing for iOS.  so they'll be making money off them either way.

Apple should buy Sony. They can afford it.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

Not now, Apple stands to be the one to erode most of Nintendo's marketshare. Might as well wait for that to stop producing results before you spend money buying them. Imagine how much more it would have cost them to buy Nintendo in the Wii/DS era? Now Imagine how much less they could be worth a generation from now. I'm not convinced post Iwata Nintendo is going to do very well.

Why isn't Sony Computer Entertainment (or whatever its called now) in the title too? or for that matter Sony Corp?

I'm not really here!

they cant afford it, those 200 billion $ are not real money but overblown stocks who are collapsing now by the way.

PLEASE NO! THANKS.

Should buy Sony instead for the overall reactions

OT: No they shouldn't, complete waste.
