That said, I hope that 20.99 $/€ price isn't true. If the other old FF games are 15€ I don't see why IX should cost more.

You'd think, based on ebay demand and it's availability on the PS store for PS3 it would be cheaper but alas, it's SquEnix, they'll milk these games for all they are worth.

Hmm, pie.

This game is not really a Final Fantasy, it lacks the same kind of epic story and great characters. It's more like a Crystal Chronicles game which plays on very generic Final Fantasy themes rather than originality. It was the first numbered FF game that wasn't a true FF game. FF11, 12, and 14 are the others.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

FF9 was the peak for FF games... after that it went downhill fast... FF12 and 13 are horrible in comparison.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Can't wait for this to come out for PS4! Hope they announce this soon!

Unfortunately I think it is gonna be $20.99 with a 20% discount during first week which will make it $16.99.

Thinking twice now whether to buy it day 1 or not.

I almost never buy games at launch, but if that's the price I'll wait until it goes on sale. I'm optimistic in a 50% off either in the summer or winter Steam sales.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Well I was planning to record it after I finish FF7 and FF8 but I think I'll pass and hold off on FF9 - work on other games especially in case there's anything needed to fix for the PC version by mods or patches.

Hmm might even get Disgaea PC instead of FF9 at first.

Have other FF games launched with problems on Steam? But in any case, it's never a bad idea to wait and see how is the port (we've had too many 30fps games lately).

Personally it comes down to the fact that I don't like when companies try to be greedy and squeeze me more than what's reasonable. And when that happens, I wait until the game goes on sale. They want more money from me? Well, then I'll give them even less that I was planning to do.

It's mad the way mobile gets this first. it's the place to be if you like old FF games that's for sure.

IIRC FF6 launched with some grahpical issues.

Ok, that's only one...

FF6 I hear had some issues with its visuals but those were fixed easily.

FF7 had the botched audio from the original PC version but it was officially patched.

FF8 had the botched audio too but SE didnt patch it - but there are mods to fix it.

FF13 had FPS issues but those were fixed for the most part

Although the recently released ones didnt have any issues so hoping for the best here too :D

... Oh, boy!

With that track record, I would say that buying it day one is a very bad idea. You're better off getting Disgaea first.
