Jesus, Fred Durst is a decent singer? Limp Bizkit is metal? LOL. There is too much wrong with the OP for me to take it seriously. You really need to broaden your "metal" horizons.

Radiohead LOL.

Enlighten me so I can begin the broadening of my horizons, I am always open to new genres but I really need to know where to start. I like die for metal, Where is my mind, the tune from the matrix....is that metal?

Aren't Radiohead an Alternative Rock band?

Stone Sour's vocalist (also the vocalist of Slipknot) Corey Taylor is an excellent vocalist.

A heavy song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tmxCRRmNhM

Avenged Sevenfold also has a good vocalist.

There are many Heavy Metal bands with talented vocalists. Even Marilyn Manson deserves some credit here:

Hell no. listen to the album Around the Fur by Deftones. Some lovely vocals here. First album by 30 seconds to Mars is decently heavy too. Good vocals here also.

You've declared an uninformed opinion on a subject you know nothing about (Radiohead? Really?). You were doomed before you even posted this. There are so many different kinds of metal out there, and from what I can see you somehow managed to scrape the bottom of the metal barrel when the barrel was already full. Bravo.

bet: lost

Is everyone on this site a Metal fan? Very strange poll...

I don't know what you're talking about. Sounds like you're listening to bad metal if you think so.

Well, the problem first starts with deciding what is considered metal. Is nu metal being considered here? Is any alternative metal included? Are we counting metalcore? Do bands like AC/DC, Porcupine Tree, or Rush count? I also don't understand your question. I'm pretty sure if someone's a bad signer they're not just going to gravitate towards metal, most people that make metal music are fans of metal. Another problem is the fact that vocals are much less important than the instruments in metal, so when we listen we are generally more focused on the guitar/drums/bass/etc. than the vocals (many harsh vocals, such as the ones that Varg Vikernes does for Burzum, are mainly for atmospheric purposes). However, there are still very good metal singers, but as stated before, it's hard to give examples when I don't even know what we are including as metal.

Go listen to music? Even the most mainstream metal bands disprove your theory. Avenged Sevenfold has a great vocalist. Slipknot has a great vocalist. Disturbed might be more on the rock side than metal but they have a great vocalist. Older stuff like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest. Ozzy used to have a good voice. There are plenty of artists you can listen to without even needing to really dig.

Limp Bizkit, though. The thread simply cannot recover from that.

One of my favorite metal bands System of a Down has great vocals via Serj Tankian. His range is great going from guttural to scream to harmonizing within a minute in some songs.
