The 6s/plus is also stronger in raw hardware. Every single benchmark prooves this. Apple isnt well known for awesome software optimisation at all. Most games/programs run afwull on Mac OS compared to windows. Dont fool yourself.

Apple isn't the one optimizing the apps... The developers are. Same counts for games for Mac. The reason apps are more optimized for iOS is because it's a closed system without too mane different types of hardware. Meanwhile for Android you have a shittonne of different hardware. Furthermore, iOS users spend more money on microtransactions et. al. so it makes more sense for devs to focus on that version of an app running as good as possible, especially when it's easier to do so (I assume that you, with your vast knowledge about computers and phones understand that optimizing for perhaps a dozen hardware configurations is a lot easier than optimizing for hundreds?)

4k = ~8,8 mio pixel

5k= ~14,7 mio pixel.

Difference= 5,9 Mio Pixels

[Difference between 1080p and 4k is 6,7 mio Pixels]

So the differences in pixel between 4k and 5k is almost the same as between full hd and 4k.

5k has 167% of the pixels 4k has.

Difference is negliable? Nope.

Diminishing returns. The difference in image quality between 1080p and 480p is much bigger than that between 1080p and 4K, even though you are adding a lot more pixels from 1080p to get 4k than you are when moving from 480p to 1080p. Even then, the jump from 1080p to 4K quadruples the amount of pixels, while 4K to 5K less than doubles it, and diminishing returns are everpresent. The jump from 4K to 5K is much much much smaller than the jump from 1080p to 4K, I really hope you aren't denying that.

SSDs arnt hardware? interesting.

Didn't say so, I said SSD vs SSHD has little to do with actual hardware power. Don't put words in my mouth. Of course SSDs are hardware.

the 750m is used in macbook pros as well. The latest Intel Iris pro graphics arnt much weaker btw. The CPUs in this class are almost the same.

The build quality and used display does both matter for the priece. So they are important. Show me a similar product as the macbook pro to proove they are "overprieced". Not something compeltly different thats "almost the same" in your opinion.

Here is an macbook pro for 1900$

Your Lenovo for 1300$

Fine, Lenovo was a bad example. Take this one instead:

Differences:

HP Omen advantages:

*Slightly better CPU

*WAY better GPU

*Faster type of RAM (DDR3 SDRAM vs normal DDR3)

*Lower price

Macbook Pro advantage:

*Better screen

Please stop trolling.

How am I trolling? xD

Nintendo tried to emulate a lot of what Apple was doing back then since the DS and specifically the Wii launched. Anyone who bought a Wii could attest to how the minimalistic design of the box and the disposition of its internal contents ressembled a lot an iPod from those days. Apple often focus more on the side of efficiency rather than raw performance, so that is a lot like Nintendo too, though Nintendo often opts for outdated or more uncommon technologies, unlike Apple, which pushes for the mainstream cutting edge.

Sony, though, often ressembled Samsung a lot more, being a huge eastern conglomerate targeting consumer electronics and striving for higher quality. Besides the Xbox division after the RRoD problem was fixed, Microsoft has an unfavourable track of their hardware products underperforming on quality or market acceptance - just remember the Zune, the Surface, their PC peripherals, or the Windows Phone, which, heck, basically finished Nokia. So I don't think Microsoft is a good comparison here.

The premise of this thread is pretty amusing when you consider the fact that Sony was one of Steve Jobs' biggest inspirations.

When it comes to the PlayStation, is obvious Sony's biggest inspiration was Nintendo. And Microsoft nowadays, given how much the PS4 (and 3) borrow from the original Xbox (and 360).

Actually, the Playstation division was initially modeled around Sony's music division. I'd really love to hear your explanation on the Xbox thing

Atari created the home console industry, Nintendo perfected it. Sega created the "mature" console industry, Sony perfected it.

This is how I have always viewed it.

No, no, and no. Sony's biggest inspiration was Sega, not Nintendo. It was Sega that created a "mature" console industry. They're the ones who came up with the idea to market and sell games to everyone, not just kids. Sony pretty much copied everything Sega did during their Genesis run (mature looking console, attack style commercials, mature software) and totally perfected it.

Atari was Nintendo's inspiration, Nintendo was Sega's inspiration and Sega was Sony's inspiration.

Threads with Apple in the title turning into Apple trolling fests and pseudo-geeks exposing themselves for what they are isn't new. As far as the community is concerned, if you are not trolling SONY/MS/Nint, you are safe.

I don't agree with the OP, btw. I'd say Apple and Nintendo businesses are very volatile compared to the competition. Bad for the company, good for the consumers. As a consumer, those companies will ensure you get the best experience they can give. If not, troubles ensue.

And if you wanna talk about overpriced hardware can we throw the Wii U & the ps3 among the examples? Thanks.

The PlayStation 4 is an Xbox under a different brand. It has more in common with the original Xbox than with the PlayStation 1 or 2. Also, SONY can model their division in the shape of a donut, It still doesn't change the fact Nintendo has always been their biggest source for inspiration.

lmao the revinisiot history in this is amazing
ninty were super capitalist and even bullies
known to use outdated hardware( can say the same for apple but the closed ecosystem means their devices still have SUPERIOR perfomance so it doesnt matter )
backwards as hell for a long time
lolable online and onlineservices and console power , please
we won't even have a playstation if ninty werent so bullheaded andput a cd-rom LOOOOOOL

lmao ninty were always the 1st party kings , their games are amazing no doubt
they have pokemon , mario , zelda

lmao but praising them for being forward thinking is lolable
last 2 gens had them being backward

again playstation and nntendo work differently , nintendo is carried by 1st party, sony by 3rd if the 3rd

and tbh3ds is lucky , next gen i doubt the next handheld console will see up to 40m sold , mobile has destroyed that market
heck 3ds is gonna be at 2/3 of psps sale

but this blind praise for ninty is annoying when microsoft and sony have pushed the industry farther in the last 2 gens on the home console space way more than ninty

I can't say that I like either Apple of Microsoft. It's hard to find a company that's not at least to some degree 'evil' if they are involved with 'the Internets' in any way because all of them have these grand dreams of taking over the world and their customers' living rooms and all of them to some degree are anywhere from reluctant to willing collaboratros and enablers of these current militaristic/surveillance/police states that, too, have these grand dreams of knowing and controlling 'everything', including the most intimate aspects of our personal lives.

Microsoft has been and continues to be a willing collaborator and cooperator. I believe they practically begged the NSA to take the backdoor keys to their Skype and Outlook services. Apple, while not so slavishly working with the spooks, is trying oh-so-hard to turn their customers into helpless slaves, keeping them isolated, insulated, ignorant and depended so that they can be overcharged for everything Apple makes and does and keep them come begging for more.

Within that context, maybe Miucrosoft's console business is more like Apple. Sony have been trying hard to be 'the good guys', probably because they've been struggling in the marketplace so they don't have too many options, even though greed and nastiness perks up from time to time - like in the grossly overpriced, proprietary memory cards for the Vita. Nintendo, I don't know much about what they do or how they operate.
