Forums - Gaming Discussion - Buying Games Blind

Yes, but only on things like Metal Gear Solid, Mario, Zelda... franchises which I know will be quality. Everything else has been review based mixed with peer reactions.

Hmm, for me, I didn't get games blind myself, but my friends would, and we would all end up getting into them, such as Pokemon, Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lotis, Ogre Battle, Quest 64, Shining Soul 2, Grandia 2 and likely a couple more. Those were good times...

A few games I can remember blindly getting were Puyo Pop and Evolution 2. Those turned out to be pretty good games...

I used to more often, and was often rewarded for it - how I ended up getting Suikoden 2 not knowing anything about it. I tend to get my fix of mystery games via PS+ now.

Well... I've bought two undiscovered games yesterday. Nitroplus Blasterz & Gravity Rush Remastered.

I wish I could buy more games blind, but the Internet likes to spoil everything and throwing away 70 bucks for a game I might not like is not up to discussion.

I'm now filled with determination.

Not since I was a kid and didn't have to spend my own money on games.

As of recent memory, Atelier Escha and Logy, didn't knew what it was, just that the artbox looked like something I would play, I bought it, and man one of my favorite games of all time and made me an Atelier fan too :P

No, I usually see something on the internet about a game, then check a couple of gameplay minutes and decide if I get it or not.

When i was a kid my parents used to buy me NES games blind. Two of my favourite 'blind' games I received from that era were Rush 'n' Attack and Mega Man 2. Happy memories. It used to be nice walking into a shop and buying a game with hardly any information about it, basically just what was on the back of the box. Not really knowing what you're getting, then playing it to death as you only got 2 or 3 games a year.

Not really.. I only buy games that I'm interested in and want to get

Though there are times when I did buy it impulsively and usually did regret those purchases
