The Lion King

Get out of here! The Lion King is the best animated movie of all time. All it's production value is still felt today more than 20years later. Phenomenal soundtrack and voice acting. Makes you both laugh and cry. Had a insanely poweful opening and ending. That movie is just perfect.

I don't know, I think it did well wrapping up the trilogy.

Kung Fu Panda 3 seriously messed up when it tried to keep going on. If it went Toy Story's route and put a good end to it, it could've done much better.

Toy Story 4 is releasing in 2018.

You've got to be kidding me.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Spirited away a mess? Random elements? I guess it's the movies fault for not explaining the Japanese folklore it is based on in a 2 hour documentary before the movie starts :) Not that that's needed.

For me Wall-E is very overrated. It's a slow and rather boring movie to watch again, very simple and drawn out. Heck I like frozen better than Wall-E. It's one of my 4 year old's favorites.

Spirited away. Like many other anime stand alone movies, has the problem of too many random elements showing up without proper explanation and the whole movie ends up a mess.

It makes more sense for people in the east. Think of it like Yokai-Watch. All of the "random" elements are so strange to us. It's to the point where it ruins the movie for westerners.

All of the spirits and myths that we've never heard of throw us off track

Gonna have to hop on the Frozen bandwagon. I enjoyed it for what it was, but people gave it way more praise then I think it deserves

I actually liked Frozen, nothing special but not bad either. Hated minions but considering you are asking for overrated Frozen wins, I mean it was (or still is) the biggest animated film ever in the box office and won oscars..

Finding Nemo and Inside Out.

I understand LK has its fans and for good reason. There are some things in the film that are good but a number of issues keep me from calling it "just perfect".

Simba's a little brat who boasts about his lineage. "Look at how silver the spoon in my mouth is!" And this twerpy iteration of his never amounts to anything. Big missed writing opportunity. At times some of the characters act like idiots, Simba regaining his kingdom makes the sun come up because magic, and some of the songs are dumb. "Hakuna matata! What a wonderful phrase! You being responsible for your dad's death is okaaaaaayyyy!!!" as Simba joins Timon and Pumbaa in song. Can you feel the love tonight? No. No, I can't. Simba and Nala haven't seen each other in a long time so no, I can't feel it.

I could go on but whatever. LK's not a bad movie, it's just overrated.

Also, it really annoys me how much LK ripped off of Kimba the White Lion. Underneath I can almost see Disney execs wringing their hands.

I've always struggled with the term "overrated". To me, it must be measured against something else. "Overrated" compared to what? Always plucks my nerves, a bit.

Widespread consensus. Kinda like seeing a 9/10 average for something you feel deserves a 7/10 or something.
