Yep....  The question is... will 2016 be the year the PS4 passed the Wii U in japan?

I think so honestly.

The gap is 660K, they have managed to out-sell Wii U, by 60K this month, if stay this way, will outsell the Wii U, by the end of the year, but might out-sell when Persona 4, or Final Fantasy XV, Launch.

No he didn't say that.  He said Nintendo hardware which is Wii U + 3DS beat Playstation hardware last January.  This is the first time Sony outsold Nintendo for total hardware in January for a long time.  

 

The Ps4 has never lost a January to the Wii U and it never will.

Oh my god kylee, this time you made a big mistake. Well, better say you forgot something big to say about next month. Saturday 27th is the release of the Pokemon Red, Green, Blue, Yellow bundled Nintendo 2DS (two days of tracking).

Also, since Famitsu is supposed to track download cards, they'll track for sure the game standalone too. (Not sure about MC, maybe they'll only track the hardware).

The 2DS is limited in Japan, so probably a huge first week is expected and it will disappear after a few weeks. Also the 2DS and the Pokemon game will be only available in some chains. For example Tsutaya and Yamada Denki.

What a great thread Kylee. Your posts are always welcome. By the way, if I'm not mistaken Famitsu tracks five weeks during this month. Don't know if you are aware of that. It's mostly because when we have the yearly chart for 2016, it will be sort of different from what you have.
