Forums - Nintendo Discussion - GoNintendo rumor on NX

I think the NX will be more powerful than PS4, using AMD instead of PowerPC. That would be great, specially for thirds.

You seem to mingle architecture and power together. A PowerPC-CPU can be more powerful or less powerful than an x86 or x64 CPU. Has nothing to do with architecture. Second AMD could license PowerPC and build them themself (didn't do it as far as I know though).

Unfortunately, AMD being the provider doesn't guarantee anything. After all, PS4 and X1 also use AMD products.

Oh, and welcome to the forums .

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

So to sum up the rumour: An unnamed dev studio doesn't have an NX dev kit.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

NX will have ARM or x86 or both (ARM for handheld and x86 for home console), it will not have PowerPC.

But they totes want one!

uhh I think the only thing that this really shows is that they don't have a dev kit. Great leak though! Its enough to sound like it could be something, but tells nothing.

ARM or x86 would be my guess too, but the poster before spoke on 'AMD instead of PowerPC', which lead to my reply. I think ARM is a good scaling architecture for both handheld and console with future. But whatever, Nintendo-devs probably tried all possibilities.

Yes, ARM would be pretty good, also Iwata said they want architecture that will use in next generations too.
