4h ago - Just over a week ago it was rumored that a USB Whistle PS4 Jailbreak and CFW were in the works, and today juampa21 shared the first details of the for-profit PS4 DRM device.

To quote from ConsoleCrunch (linked above): "Hello dear crunchers its juampa21 and today I bring you some exciting news about the PS4 scene!

So according to the Cobra Team they are planning to announce and release the COBRA USB PS4 game emulator which will make PS4 users be able to enable homebrew applications and may allow play non-copyrighted downloaded games on their PS4 system!

Here i provide you some images about the post!"

PSA: For those considering such a DRM device, keep in mind the notorious history of ringleaders Max Louarn (aka MAXiMiLiEN of Paradox) and Gary Wayne Bowser (aka GaryOPA) of the Cobra Team... over the years they've profited from countless scene developers work wrapping it in their own digital rights management packages including the original PSJailbreak, TrueBlue dongle, etc instead of keeping the scene FREE and OPEN SOURCE.

I think the question everyone will want to know is if this will allow them to download and play PS4 games for free. Because if its true I can see a massive spike in hardware sales.

Well it's a usb device which allows you to run emulators on the ps4, it's a vague title but it isn't wrong.

Come on I know most users here have zero technical knowledge or education about how these things work but anybody can easily tell that this is fake. First of all this is old news and has already been dismissed by the scene as false. Secondly 'team cobra' have never produced anything new, only copying off existing work from the scene. Thirdly Sony patched the security hole years ago that's why it was released to the public by the real scene hackers it is useless. The security on the PS4 is very good all the scenes hackers trying their hardest have only ever found 1 real exploit. So is a group that has produced zip in the past not only gonna find their own security holes but develop their own 'custom' firmware all in the space of a couple months?

Seems some people are really looking for any negative news about PS4.
