So, apparently Dark Souls 3 will be the last Dark Souls we´ll see, but not necessarily the end of 'Souls like' games, especially since (if I´m not mistaken) the style of these games is the most successful thing From Software has ever made, but after:

Dark Souls (2011)

Dark Souls DLC (2012)

Dark Souls 2 + DLCs (2014)

Dark Souls 2 remastered complete edition and Bloodborne + DLC (2015)

And the upcoming Dark Souls 3 (April this year)"

That´s a lot of Souls...they must be itching to work on something else different, and as a big fan myself, I´m ok with them taking a break from it and going for something different, keep those creative juices flowing.

In time, I surely wouldn´t mind a return to Souls, one with a Sci-Fi thematic would be neat, but after DS3 give me something different.

Yeah i want them to take a break and tackle something else, i cant really play souls games every year since i put to much time into them and i dont wanna be playing the same type of games every year (especially as much as i do with souls) thats the reason why i gave up on Ass Creed and COD.

I heard they wanted to go back to making a mech game and using some of the stuff they learned with souls games, so basically they kind of wanna make a Souls/Armored Core kind of game, and i would be down for that (as long as its something really original and not just a souls games with a mech skin), i love mechs so that news has all my hype.

I think they are gonna stick with the "souls" genre because it's been very successful for them so far but they might go with another new IP.

I'd love for them to go back to making an Armored Core multiplat title.

New ip please and i don't mean new ip like Bloodborne.

I want a Bloodborne 2 at least. Their best setting yet deserves one more entry
Or instead they could've gone DS -> DkS -> BB -> New whatever they want. Don't see the point of 3 dark souls. But that damage is already done.
If they don't stick with souls they could do a survival horror game, similar to TEW.

im not a souls fan, though i bought and loved bloodborne. i want another one, but i also want to see them working on something new other than souls games. from the rumors we got it seems they are working on both a new ip and a sequel to bloodborne.
