World of Tanks has seen itself garner a positive reaction from the gaming community, as is evident by the fact that within 5 days of its release it has already amassed over 1 million downloads, according to the game’s publisher, Wargaming.

The free-to-play model doesn’t seem to have deterred players from strapping on their helmets and jumping into one of the many historically accurate tanks available in the game.

There was a time not so long ago when a free-to-play game would have been ridiculed and perhaps left to rot, but these numbers show that players aren’t just mildly interested in them – they’re actually embracing them, and when they’re as well made as World of Tanks, who can blame them?
