Buzzfeed News claims to know that Twitter will introduce a new algorithmic timeline next week, a feature nobody on earth has ever asked for.

This algorithm will reorder tweets based on what it thinks the user want to see rather and what the user doesn't want to see. As we all know that feature has been used by Facebook by some time now and tbh it doesn't work there. It shows me posts I'm totally not interested in and it doesn't show me posts I'd care for.

In my opinion this feature would kill twitter, just like it killed Facebook for me. And I reall hope that it will optional, if not then I'm done with twitter.

If anything, it will be like Youtube's Google+ feature that thankfully, they were smart enough to reverse recently.

Either way, I doubt people that use Twitter will see the new system as that big a deal.

That's it... I'm going back to Myspace.

I saw #RIPTwitter this morning. I don't know how I feel about it. I think an average guy like me will never have their Tweets seen again. But if it does away with all of the spam, it might be okay. Thing is, virtually nobody I follow on Twitter is actually a person I know in person.

I'm just going to have to wait and see what they do.

Is MySpace still online?

So that's why #RIPTwitter is trending topic

This is the perfect example of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

The default feed order is annoying, and like you mentioned it shows me shit I could care less about while hiding posts from people I'm interested in.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey commented on the situation:

Hello Twitter! Regarding : I want you all to know we're always listening. We never planned to reorder timelines next week.
